When cosplaying this Summer Insect look of Luo Tianyi, I was drawn to the character's cool tones and sense of vulnerability from the very beginning. Today, I've finally organized the photos from this cosplay photoshoot. From character choice and costume preparation to the end of the shoot, the entire process kept me fully immersed in this cold yet dreamlike setting.

Let's talk about the costume first. It's a short, puffy black-and-blue patchwork dress. The upper body combines black leather with a fishnet design, giving it a slight techwear vibe, but the blue three-dimensional fabric flower ornaments on the waist and chest bring back that soft, elegant feel. Paired with a black choker and a metal chain pendant, it not only anchors the rich layers of the skirt but also creates a visual contrast with the long silver-grey hair. For the hair accessories, I intentionally picked two semi-translucent little butterflies to echo the large blue butterfly prop I held during the shoot, which serves as a neat little touch.

In terms of makeup, to fit the setting, I used bright blue colored contact lenses, paired with a relatively deep eyeliner and curled false eyelashes to make the gaze look more focused. For the lip color, I chose a natural peach tone to prevent the makeup from looking too cold. This cool-toned makeup performs exceptionally well in a photo studio, especially in close-up shots under soft light.

The studio backdrop for the shoot was also very thoughtfully prepared. The photographer set up a dreamlike scene resembling a "secret garden" using a white iron chair, white tulle drapes, and a long-pile plush carpet. Complemented by golden empty photo frames and fresh flowers, it carries a serene artistic sense under the cool-toned lighting. The silver-black vintage crystal candlestick and the diamond-shaped blue light fixture in the frame beautifully supplement the visual light source without stealing the character's spotlight.

During the shoot, the cooperation with the photographer (thanks to photographer WIFI and also Tianyi @Wenqu for their help) was incredibly seamless. This time we experimented with several different cinematic languages: for instance, in the second picture, I intentionally reached my hand out toward the lens, creating an interactive feel that breaks the fourth wall; the sixth close-up image uses a blue butterfly prop to block the tip of my nose, concentrating the visual focus entirely on the eyes, which is my absolute favorite shot from the entire set. In addition, there's a lazy posture lounging sideways on the chair, a playful saluting motion, and finally a wide-angle composition sitting on the carpet cradling a large bundle of blue flowers—each picture beautifully embodies a different side of the character.

In fact, the imagery of "Summer Insect" itself carries a sense of fleeting time and wonder. Therefore, regarding the emotional expression of the shoot, I hoped to convey a clear-headed yet slightly blurred atmosphere, avoiding overly exaggerated facial expressions and relying more on the gaze and body language to present it. For this kind of relatively professional portrait photography, besides the makeup and wig, the most crucial element is the tacit understanding with the photographer. The light, shadow, and angles they arrange allow your emotions to flow out very naturally. In the shot where I am sitting on the white plush carpet draped with a blue umbrella and clusters of blue flowers, my entire being seems to completely dissolve into this quiet environment.

All in all, this set of Luo Tianyi Summer Insect cosplay photoshoots is a photographic work highly worth recording. There's no need for excessive fancy words; each photograph itself is the best language. I hope this photoset allows everyone to see a coser who has her own understanding and presentation of the character. My gratitude also goes out to everyone who seriously participated in this shoot.
