This set of Luo Tianyi photoshoots themed around Chinese charm has finally been compiled. The core concept behind this shoot was to merge the ethereal aura of a virtual singer with classical Eastern aesthetics. For this outdoor location, immense thought went into the attire and props during pre-production. I selected a crossed-collar wide-sleeved garment layering aqua-green over pure white. The defining feature of this outfit is its multiple cascading layers of sheer chiffon. While it flows gracefully when walking, during the actual shoot the wind constantly blew the billowing sleeves into nearby branches or jagged rocks. To capture that dynamic flurry of fluttering sleeves, I had to control my facial expressions while continuously smoothing out the wind-tousled gauze skirt with my hands—wrestling with the fabric for quite a while.

The hair styling took the longest time. The long silver-gray locks had to be brushed smooth, then shaped into two symmetrical twin buns at the crown of the head without appearing rigid. For hair accessories, I selected blue-and-white floral ornaments and dainty pearls, concealing the pins inside so the exterior looked clean and polished. To allow the bangs to contour my face naturally, I repeatedly adjusted the density of the sideburns. For makeup, the focus was on sculpting the eye shape—slightly elongating the outer corners and pairing them with gray-blue colored contacts to lend a pristine clarity to my gaze. The base makeup demanded a clean, matte finish, finished with a subtle glossy rose-mauve lip color to keep it close to everyday beauty while exuding an ethereal, fairy-like grace.

The outdoor location was set in a red leaf forest. The reddish-brown canopy formed the backdrop, creating a striking visual complementary contrast against my aqua-green garments. The lighting was relatively soft, which meant carefully finding angles so I wouldn't blend into the background. Resting my hand against a gray decorative garden boulder, my fingers touched the rough stone surface. Holding the outstretched arm pose seen in the first photo actually required continuous core engagement from my shoulders and arms to balance; the sheer sleeves carry noticeable weight, and with the uneven rocks beneath my feet, standing firmly was an ongoing effort. For the next two shots with my face turned in profile and fingers lightly brushing my lips, the photographer kept coaching me from behind the camera to restrain my gaze and capture an effortless, subtle melancholy. Right there on set, I focused on channeling that quiet, aloof composure. The movements in this set weren't large, yet they demanded strong posture control—both standing stances and hand placements had to honor the dignified grace of traditional styling.

Luo Tianyi has always been a truly special presence to me; she is not merely a virtual icon, but a vessel carrying the emotions and creations of so many people. Being able to express her Chinese charm through cosplay amidst this autumn red leaf forest felt profoundly meaningful. From garment tailoring and wig styling to location scouting, being hands-on with every single step was exhausting, but seeing the final images made every bit worthwhile. Mid-shoot, a fierce gust of wind nearly dislodged a hair accessory from my crown, which I luckily caught just in time. Moreover, moving up and down stone stairs in such a long skirt was particularly cumbersome, requiring me to lift the hemline the entire time. These seemingly minor details are the authentic reality of a cosplay photoshoot. Toward the end of the day, as dusk gathered, the natural light filtering through the red foliage cast dappled glows that lent the frames a cinematic warmth. We hurried to capture a final series of close-ups before wrapping up. Returning home to remove the makeup, several red leaves were still caught in my hair, and dust clung to the hem of the dress. This set took nearly a month from initial planning to final delivery, with countless discussions with the photographer on poses and color grading. The final presentation beautifully harmonizes classical charm with anime aesthetic elements.
