June 17 is Nazuka's birthday, so I specially sorted through this set of Stella Sora Nazuka cosplay taken during a Sea of flowers photoshoot at Foshan Xianlu Island. Coincidentally, the birthday illustration released officially today features a framing angle surprisingly similar to these photos—such serendipity is truly magical.

The preparation before this shoot was actually much more intricate than expected. For the blue, white, and brown outfit, the blue parts used lightweight chiffon fabric, which flowed with lovely layers in the breeze but easily caught on flower bushes, requiring constant readjusting. The brown corset belt was made of structured leather, which, paired with the small waist pouches, provided a sharp silhouette. Securing the golden hair ornaments onto the long, straight dark-blue wig had me breaking quite a sweat on set. The true test of prop crafting, however, was the staff: the texture of the gold rings, the curved white pieces, and the inlaid blue gems—their luster heavily dictated the final visual quality. We repeatedly adjusted the reflector positions on-site so the metallic sheen of the staff didn't look harsh under direct sunlight.

The location was Foshan Xianlu Island, where a sprawling field of pink and purple flowers paired with a pure white tower structure in the distance, perfectly matching the character's setting. Photographer Morning Star handled the camera; to find the angle closest to the birthday card background, we walked back and forth multiple times, even lying on the ground to dial in the camera angle. The lighting during the shoot was soft morning light beneath beautifully shaped clouds; this natural light was a massive asset, being neither harsh nor flat, and bringing out the true, translucent colors of the flower field.

During shooting, adjusting the seated pose on that rock took a while, mainly to make the positioning of the legs and the staff look natural while maintaining a balanced, centered composition. Looking at the finished set now, the framing feels very harmonious. Although walking through the flower bushes inevitably snagged the clothes and got mud on my shoes, seeing how the blue-and-white outfit popped against the sea of flowers made it all feel completely worth it.

Post-processing avoided exaggerated alterations, mainly restoring the soft lighting ambiance of the day, preserving ground textures and the authentic colors of the flowers, with a slight bump in exposure to make the overall look more dreamlike. This shoot was also a great location scout—the floral field at Foshan Xianlu Island is genuinely suited for Anime cosplay outdoor shoots, where the clean lines of the white tower help the character stand out. Harmonizing unexpectedly with the official birthday illustration became a very special way to commemorate Nazuka's birthday.
