[Xuenü and Gao Jianli Cosplay] JX3 Chinese-Style Cosplay with Qi Lolita: Cool-Toned Swordsman Journey in the Bamboo Forest

Attempting to present a JX3 Chinese-style cosplay scene with this Xuenü and Gao Jianli cosplay look was a wonderful experience in itself. The outfit uses black and grayish-purple as its primary palette, aiming to showcase a cool, detached texture under natural sunlight. The upper body's waist-cinching jacket, accented with metallic buttons and a leather belt corset, sharpens the silhouette, while light tulle panelling at the cuffs and hem catches the natural movement of gentle breezes. Straps at the waist and leg garters maintain traditional Chinese classical charm while infusing Qi Lolita tactical elements, ensuring the outfit never feels plain. The black platform high-heeled boots offered good traction on stone steps, providing great support for experimenting with various poses.

The locations chosen this time were rich in traditional Chinese aesthetic mood. In the first bamboo forest portrait, the soft lighting filtered through towering bamboo and quiet trails, cleanly clearing out distracting background lights to craft an isolated, cool aura alongside the long sword prop. For the second photo sitting on stone steps, I deliberately adjusted the lines of my lower body; shot from a low angle by the photographer, it highlighted the layers of the skirt hem and strap details while giving the frame a composed tension that balanced the sword-holding pose with a relaxed posture. The third composition, leaning against a bluestone railing by the water, created a contrast of warm and cool tones between the background peach branches, serene water surface, and grayish-blue attire, with the extended arm adding an open, expansive feel to the composition.

The prop sword had just the right weight, anchoring the character's presence without straining my arms, allowing my posture to relax naturally. The shooting process was actually quite demanding—especially weaving through the forest and moving up and down stone steps, which tested how well I managed the skirt hem and sleeves to keep them from catching on branches or rocks, all while controlling facial expressions to maintain an ethereal, stoic gaze. Fortunately, in the final photos, the fusion of Qi Lolita with authentic traditional architecture and natural scenery turned out ideal, and the cool-toned post-processing perfectly captured the mood originally envisioned. The overall styled outcome was a pleasant surprise to me; this aesthetic blending aloof martial heroism with unique tailored cuts is precisely what I aimed to express through this shoot.
