\"Azure Dragon on the left, White Tiger on the right, keep carbohydrates light\"—this time I'm sharing a cosplay shoot of Xianzhou March 7th (The Hunt). The overall color scheme of the outfit is dominated by red and black, accented with white and gold elements. Paired with a pink double-bun hairstyle, it showcases a lively, spirited, yet heroic Xianzhou swordswoman aura in a traditional classical garden setting. Regarding costume details, the upper half features her signature jacket and inner top design; the red outer sleeves are very airy, with ample width and hem drape that dynamically enhances action poses. The dark high-collared bodice on the chest, adorned with golden chains and white floral embroidery, is packed with exquisite detail. The lower half consists of a dark short skirt with gold trimming, subtly revealing layered pink tulle underneath for great dimension. Her legs are fitted with tight white tights featuring faint floral patterns along the sides, paired with black chunky-heeled boots with gold buckles—beautifully flattering leg lines while making the overall posture look crisp and upright.
In choosing the wig and contact lenses, to fit the character's temperament, I opted for a pale pink double-bun wig with a soft, natural texture and just the right touch of airy fluffiness. For contact lenses, I chose bright blue lenses, which, combined with full-ring eyeliner and distinct false lashes, give the eyes a clearer, more spirited look that resonates wonderfully with the red, white, and black palette of the outfit.
The props for this shoot are a pair of red-bladed katanas featuring striking bright red blades that transition into silver-white and black gradients near the hilt. The tsuba (handguard) is black inlaid with purple geometric patterns, while the pommel is decorated with blue gemstones. One of the swords is adorned with long white tassels and metal pendants; when swinging or posing, the swaying tassels add movement to the shot. This Dual blades styling carries some physical weight, but achieving smooth motion required practicing blade spins and stances repeatedly. From this photoshoot experience, high-quality physical props truly make an enormous difference in the final result.
Selecting the outdoor location also took considerable thought. Since the outfit carries a touch of Chinese wuxia and xianxia charm, I specifically chose a traditional Chinese garden for the shoot. The scattered rockery stones, shimmering water ponds, and distant pavilions with upturned eaves in the background fit the Xianzhou cosplay lore seamlessly. Greenery and blue stone railings interspersed across the scene, combined with natural bokeh from a large-aperture lens, effectively pop the subject out from the background without cluttering the frame.
In pose design, the photographer and I worked together to capture several angles. For instance, turning back with dual blades crossed behind the back highlights the costume's back details and prop interaction; a frontal pose wielding both swords conveys her composure and confidence. My absolute favorite is the dynamic pose in Photo 4 with one leg raised; it not only highlights lower-body lines, white silk tights, and boot details, but also gives the image powerful visual tension through striking red-white-black color contrast.

Sharing a casual internet meme is just recording a fun little detail from the process. Although this Xianzhou cosplay outdoor shoot was somewhat demanding, seeing the final photos made every bit of preparation and effort worthwhile. Soft lighting, high prop fidelity, and accurate styling fulfilled all my expectations—it was a truly delightful photoshoot.
