"What, is this your first time seeing this One in such a posture, and you fail to recognize me?" That iconic framed glasses, a streak of emerald green highlighted in the black hair, paired with this attire interwoven with peacock blue, black, and gold, is indeed somewhat different from this One's usual scholarly aura. This entire set of client photos completed at the Miyou Miaomiaowu, spanning the whole process from costume tailoring to hair, makeup, styling, photography, and post-processing, truly allowed me to experience the smooth feeling of "shooting a finished set without needing to overthink."
Let's first talk about the outfit this time. This look, a fusion of Chinese style and techwear elements, is exceptionally sophisticated. The main peacock blue color is highly translucent, and paired with the gold thread piping along the edges, the overall texture pops instantly. The traditional frog closure at the neckline and the bright goose-yellow tassels serve as eye-catching accents against the dark background. The fabric textures vary across different parts; for example, the arm guards on both arms feature a semi-transparent mesh and a detached design, which, paired with the dark brown long gloves, not only creates a flowing ink-wash visual effect but also remains very crisp during wide-ranged movements. The black-and-gold accessories at the waist and headpiece echo each other, and their metallic folded shapes enhance the three-dimensional feel of the overall design.
To align with the character's scholarly setting, we arranged a real-life Chinese study scene for the first two sessions. The venue was decorated with brush, ink, paper, and inkstone, as well as stacks of thread-bound books and a wooden abacus. The warm yellow lanterns on both sides and the backdrop of scrolls covered in calligraphy hummed with a rich scholarly atmosphere. Sitting on that quaint wooden chair holding a brush, the drape of the outfit, along with the sleeves and streamers, exuded an aura of elegance and composure in stillness. The stylist designed a cyan-toned lip makeup with a cool presence for me, which, paired with these prominent red-framed glasses, perfectly balanced the vibrancy of the hair color, making the look appear intellectual yet playful under this Chinese style makeup and styling.
When it came to the studio portrait phase, it felt as if the "celestial" switch had been flipped. The solid blue-and-white gradient background was clean and pure, maximizing the layers of peacock blue, cyan, and black on this costume. In the latter two studio sessions, I experimented with some wide-ranged, low-center-of-gravity martial arts-inspired action poses—such as a single-leg lunge with extended arms, or crouching while holding a fan. These postures, which demand a lot from one's form, benefited greatly from the costume's heavy use of lightweight, floating tulle materials. As I swung the hem and raised the fan, the captured snapshots pulled out highly tense visual arcs. Paired with pointed high heels and sharply outlined leggings, the explosive burst of power and the agility of movement achieved a beautiful balance under the cosplay photography lens.
As a part of the Genshin Impact cosplay community, I feel that this character's charm lies in the fact that underneath her otherworldly, cool detachment, there hides a grounded, slightly tsundere personality. Under the all-inclusive service of Miyou Miaomiaowu, saving me the trouble of hunting for fabrics or crafting props, I only needed to focus on finding my state in front of the camera, which is incredibly worry-free for a full cosplay photoshoot. This set of client photos captures both the "literary" and "martial" states, portraying her both as a calm, rational teacher in the study and a master of lightfoot martial arts leaping and flashing with ethereal elegance. It perfectly captures the multifaceted nature of the character.
