This group is a set of Ram and Rem duo convention photos shot using a Sony a7c II paired with a Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 lens, combined with three Godox AD200 flashes. As a duo cosplay work recorded during intervals at the anime convention, I adopted a triangular lighting pattern with one light in front as the main light source and one on each side as fill lights. The advantage of this lighting scheme is that in the dim indoor environment of the convention, the front-side light can effectively illuminate the subjects' facial and clothing details, while the two fill lights on the sides can generate beautiful rim lighting on the edges of the characters. The Sony Creative Look ST default mode delivers very pleasant straight-out-of-the-camera colors in convention environments, restoring skin tones naturally. Combined with fine adjustments in RAW format, it separates the characters from the background exceptionally well.

In actual operation, this gear combination is very lightweight. The size of the Sony a7c II paired with the Tamron 28-75g2 is easy to handle with one hand, even with the flash trigger and battery attached. When shooting a duo group, the biggest challenge is actually synchronized movements. Because the layers of the duo maid outfits are very rich, including white ruffles, detached sleeves, over-the-knee white stockings, and platform leather shoes, if the actions of the two are slightly misaligned, the frame will look scattered and chaotic. Therefore, during the shoot, we designed many symmetrical and complementary poses, such as holding hands while lifting one foot, crossing and overlapping hands, and the extended dance movements shown in the photo. Through the camera's spot focus and wide tracking, it can firmly lock onto the faces as the characters move forward and backward. Combined with the fast autofocus of the Tamron lens, the success rate of final photos is very high.

For the light treatment, we specifically left highlights on the cheeks and edges of the hair, allowing the pink and light blue short hair to present a fluffy, transparent texture under the backlight while maintaining the high contrast of the black-and-white maid uniforms. In terms of post-processing, I did not do overly exaggerated color grading but retained the basic tones of the ST Creative Look, merely tweaking the highlights and white balance in Lightroom to strive for an authentic convention photo atmosphere. The white ruffles and over-the-knee socks are highly eye-catching through the lens, increasing the overall sense of lightness and layering. Combined with the natural fluffiness of the skirt hem, it makes the entire frame look full of dynamic energy.

Shooting two characters simultaneously also requires a certain amount of width in the venue space. We found a relatively spacious industrial-style indoor venue, where the gray tones of the concrete floor perfectly offset the black-and-white clothing colors of the characters, concentrating the visual focus entirely on the two of them. When shooting this kind of duo cosplay frame, the standing positions of the characters and the direction of the hands need to be deliberately arranged. This set of movement references can be used for imitation when fellow enthusiasts take photos, and it is also our attempt to capture the charm of character interaction. Ultimately, being able to present this kind of clean, sharp light and shadow along with energetic postures means we didn't let down these carefully prepared costumes and wigs.
