I brought out this Genshin Impact Ganyu Lantern Rite cheongsam cosplay outfit for a proper photoshoot at this ACG convention. Even before receiving this costume, I was captivated by the airy lightness of her Ganyu Lantern Rite design, feeling it preserved key character traits while integrating rich traditional Chinese aesthetic elements. Today's post mainly touches upon specific wearing experiences and on-site convention photos shoot insights.

Starting with hair styling: the light greyish-blue wig was trimmed with layered bangs and stray strands to frame the face naturally and match her iconic flowy silhouette. The golden cloud-pattern hairpiece on top is exquisitely sculpted—stiffer than I anticipated—requiring extra bobby pins so it wouldn't tilt while walking. The black-and-red horns on both sides are the most recognizable part; they feature internal wiring support to fit head contours. Wearing them all day creates noticeable pressure behind the ears, but for accurate screen-to-life fidelity in final images, it's a worthwhile compromise.

For props, I carried an ink-wash bamboo folding fan with great frame and fabric texture. Its elegant pattern complements the outfit's tone seamlessly—working as a shade during selfies and an interactive prop for natural arm posing. The black high-collar neck piece with golden crescent accents raises the visual neck center while infusing retro flair. However, convention halls get crowded and warm in enclosed spaces, making sweating underneath a wig and high collar inevitable; luckily, off-shoulder upper tailoring balances heat ventilation with overall silhouette aesthetics.

Looking at the lower body, the dark blue skirt base features white star patterns mimicking a night sky, combined with a black waist cincher outlining the waistline. During shooting, I intentionally picked seated or low-angle crouching poses to display skirt layers, thigh details, and footwear completely. I chose glossy black block-heel platform high heels to elongate leg proportions. While platform heels visually boost height, walking on polished convention tile floors reveals anti-slip issues—clicking loudly with every step and causing fatigue over prolonged wear. Walking around the entire hall in these alone is tough, so while photogenic, I strongly advise fellow cosplayers to carry spare flat shoes.

For makeup, light purple contact lenses matched her pupil color, combined with eyeliner and fake lashes to elongate eye contours for a focused gaze. In this selfie, holding the folding fan while natural light hit my face rendered three-dimensional facial features without heavy retouching. Crucial focus points for this Ganyu Cosplay include securing wig and horns tightly and managing standing angles in heels. If taking full-body convention photos, carefully distribute standing weight and subtly use skirt draping or fan placement to convey a composed demeanor.

Every outfit possesses its unique design language; this Ganyu Lantern Rite cheongsam merges Eastern and Western tailoring, blending anime character signatures with real-life garment texture. Trying it on revealed that presenting great condition before the lens requires not only well-fitted clothes, but also prop interaction and relaxed posture. This summarizes my experience with this Ganyu Lantern Rite Cosplay outfit; I hope while enjoying these convention photos, you feel the careful effort poured into recreating her look on-site.
