The Marin Kitagawa summer outfit shoot this time split the scene into two parts: a grassy park and seaside reefs. This separated scene arrangement really tests the preparatory work because the environmental differences between the two sides are huge, and the challenges to lighting and hairstyles are also different. To fit that slightly sharp yet charming Yujie style aura in the Evolution Theory of ACG Accounts, I put a lot of thought into the makeup.
For the eye makeup, I used a deep reddish-brown base, outlining a slight upward flick at the outer corner of the eyes—not elongated too much, but just enough to bring out that fierce aura. The contact lenses chosen were a pinkish grayish-brown, echoing the light golden long hair. Two layers of eyelashes were applied, but ultra-fine styles were chosen; otherwise, under the strong outdoor light, the makeup would look too heavy. The base makeup was intentionally pressed to a matte finish because outdoor shooting with less reflection gives a more high-end feel.
The wig was trimmed and groomed a week in advance. To make the light golden long straight hair achieve that breezy, wind-blown feel, the layers at the roots and tips were cut relatively choppy. To match the straw hat, the front bangs were cut relatively thin so they wouldn't look cramped under the brim. The crown was padded for volume; otherwise, wearing a hat for too long makes it prone to flattening. The pink heart-shaped sunglasses perched on the straw hat are the absolute finishing touch, and the bright color of the frame just breaks the monotony of the overall color scheme.
In terms of clothing matching, this white long-sleeved off-the-shoulder top is made of a semi-sheer material, and its texture is especially prominent when shot against the backlight by the seaside. To avoid inner wear showing through and looking uncoordinated, I used light-colored invisible shoulder straps, while wearing a white-and-yellow flower on the chest for coverage and decoration. The hem of the clothes is relatively short, so raising your hands naturally reveals the waistline, where the thin black belt comes in handy, visually slightly lengthening the lower body's proportion. Frayed denim shorts paired with this pure white top give a fresh resort vibe in the grass, yet present a somewhat rebellious look when shot on the reefs. White platform sandals on the feet provide enough comfort while adding volume to the lower body, preventing it from looking top-heavy.
When shooting the grass set, I chose a squatting posture. Because the grass is quite green, if standing, the white clothes would easily disconnect from the environment. Squatting lowers the center of gravity; on one hand, it makes the frame fuller, and on the other hand, it concentrates the gaze on the face through the action of holding the brim of the hat. A mobile phone was placed next to me as a prop, keeping it natural and down-to-earth. The seaside set was completely different because the reefs were uneven, making a standing posture prone to swaying left and right. During the shoot, I stepped my left foot slightly forward onto a stable concrete block to steady my body, while slightly leaning my center of gravity backward, forming a casual yet unbothered posture. The phone with a small charm held in my hand was also a small detail adding liveliness to the frame.
When shooting the seascape, the light was extremely bright, so I asked the photographer to open up the aperture a bit to slightly blur the sea surface in the background, making the subject clearer. The third half-body close-up is actually my favorite in the entire set; right at that moment, the sea breeze blew the hat slightly crooked and strands of hair onto my face. I instinctively held the brim of the hat, tucked my chin in slightly, and looked straight into the lens, and that gorgeous yet slightly fierce atmosphere came out completely. Because the sea breeze pressed the clothes against the body, the semi-sheer texture of the fabric was captured very clearly, which, combined with the exposed waistline, really combined the character's daily vibe and sexiness quite well in the photo.
Overall, the atmosphere of this shoot was very relaxed. Without deliberately striking exaggerated poses, it conveyed the character's unique summer state through slight adjustments of clothing, placement of postures, and control of the gaze. There were no complex props—just a straw hat, glasses, flowers, and a sea.
