The knight's story begins. This time I decided to complete this set of Cosplay photography works under natural light as Cartethyia Cosplay. I really enjoy polishing details during character recreation, aiming to convey the character's unique atmosphere from wig styling to makeup application.
The headpiece matching is one of the highlights of this styling. White bone-like thorn headwear paired with blue pointed horn ornaments formed a subtle balance among light golden hair strands. Small braids woven on the sides of the wig added agility to the overall look, allowing gentle outdoor breezes to create playful movement between hair strands and accessories, helping me immerse into character quickly. For makeup, I used ice-blue contact lenses to brighten my eyes, combining delicate eye makeup with a fair, translucent foundation to bring out a cold yet gentle visual effect.
Regarding the outfit, a black, white, and blue color-blocked design was selected this time. The black choker not only makes the skin look fairer, but its golden hollow pendant paired with delicate necklaces also enhances visual refinement. The outer white lapel panels combined with thin blue straps naturally present Wuthering Waves' unique costume structure. For prop details, I chose pointed long Elf ears cosplay props, paired with blue beaded earrings to echo the overall blue-and-white tone. The white thorn ring around the wrist not only mirrors the headpiece but also adds an expressive, storytelling sense of extension to hand gestures.
During shooting, I had a wonderful collaboration with photographer @Xiaowantianjusu🍊. We chose an outdoor venue because natural outdoor light best conveys hair texture and skin translucency in an Outdoor portrait. I attempted various gestures and postures during the shoot, such as brushing back hair strands or reaching palms forward, requiring composure. Thankfully, touching hair lightly in the first shot and reaching out toward the camera in the second captured dynamic moments through the photographer's sharp snapshot skills, achieving expected lighting and angles that added vitality and intimacy to the set in this Cosplay photography project.
Much of the time, cosplay photography is far more than putting on character clothes and wigs—it's experiencing expression under the character's unique style. I invested substantial effort from hair-and-makeup prep to facial expression management. Though the shoot duration was brief, mutual collaboration and creation yielded delightful surprises. Outdoor environments are easily influenced by weather and light, yet this is precisely the charm of outdoor shooting—every light dappling and gentle breeze animates the frame. I'm deeply grateful for the photographer's patient guidance, allowing me to adjust poses freely and present these satisfying shots.
For me, bringing 2D characters into 3D reality requires great patience and passion. Whether it's hair color, body accessories, or pupil shades, I strive for faithful restoration. Through this photoshoot attempt, I've accumulated valuable experience regarding outfit expression under natural outdoor light. Given future opportunities, I hope to try similar styled shoots or explore character possibilities in wider landscapes. This Cartethyia Cosplay journey was not merely a record, but also self-improvement and reflection as a cosplayer. Well, without further ado, let me share these captured moments in the photos.
