[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail — Grimoire & Dreamy Afternoon Moments

Shooting this set for Cyrene took considerable time to capture the emotional intent behind the overall visual presentation. From the brightness of the wig to the layering of the skirt, every subtle element's reflection under studio lighting served as a focus of ongoing discussion between the photographer and me.

Let's discuss the overall costume design. Its hierarchy is rich, featuring a soft color-blocked palette of white, light blue, pale purple, and soft pink. Stitching seams at the chest and cuts on the cuffs utilize streamlined designs mimicking unfolding petals or butterfly wings. Edges are trimmed with lace and glossy fabrics, ensuring the visual texture remains light and breathable. The wig was chosen in a pale cherry-blossom pink, customized based on her ethereal lore; the hairstyle uses large-curl braided structures punctuated with matching petal hair accessories for 3D depth. For cosmetics, the base remained translucent while focusing on defining expressive, contemplative eyes rather than relying solely on flat 2D conventions.

I must highlight the props. The grimoire prop felt solid and weighty, featuring a deep blue magic circle pattern on the cover accented by golden thread textures, effectively grounding the scene's fantasy charm. The pen was also a specially crafted prop. During the shoot, I simulated her reading or taking notes—holding the opened book in hand, bringing the pen tip near my lower lip, and casting a subtle glance toward the lens—capturing both focused demeanor and playful vitality.

For scene arrangements, we utilized a golden metallic frame structure resembling a giant birdcage or flower stand, draped with semi-transparent white sheer curtains in the background. Scattered white petals on the floor and a white angel statue formed a layered composition, while studio lighting created pink-purple and blue-purple gradient shadows. This built a fairy-tale, mysterious atmosphere that resonates with dreamy environments in Honkai: Star Rail. The blurred blue flower in the foreground provided excellent framing, drawing visual focus to the central character while establishing spatial depth.

Regarding physical details and posing, I sat on a floor covered with a white fluffy blanket. The seated posture allowed the skirt to spread naturally, showcasing ruffle hems and embroidered floral patterns along the lower dress. The white stockings featured subtle geometric patterns, carefully selected to match the soft tones while elongating visual proportions.
