[Cyrene Cosplay] Museum Curator of Honkai: Star Rail, Strolling along the Tulip Waterfront

Against the sunset backlighting where the Sea of tulips meets the waterfront, I completed this shoot for the Alternating Space-Time Chronicles. This time, I recreated the museum curator look of the character Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail. This outfit aligns beautifully with the demeanor I envisioned—it possesses the quiet recording nature while presenting the serene, dreamlike ambiance of her lore amidst the floral sea and shimmering waves.

For the outfit choices, I opted for an off-white puff-sleeve shirt underneath a dark plaid pinafore dress. The off-white fabric has a gentle texture with a subtle natural sheen, looking exceptionally soft under the diffuse sunset reflection. The plaid long dress has a retro cut with excellent drape; when a gust of wind blew in photo 2, the plaid skirt flared naturally with the breeze, which, paired with my fluttering long hair, enhanced the dynamic breathing feel of the shot. The Elf ear makeup and styling paired with light gray-green contacts avoided heavy colors in the eye makeup, making the gaze more aligned with the character's serene lore and even more vivid.

I absolutely adore the setting for this set—the location was right by the water's edge in a Sea of tulips. The tulips were in full bloom, with red and yellow blossoms intertwining along the lawn's edge in rich color saturation. To embody the curator's watchful vibe by the water, the photography focused heavily on creating a Backlit atmosphere. In photo 2, the evening sunset glow pierced through strands of hair, coating the edges of the pink-to-light-blue gradient wig with a warm golden rim light. The flowing long hair was pre-planned; during the shoot, my team used a wind machine to capture the layers and airy movement. The water ripples reflecting sky light gave deep visual dimension to the picture.

In the final shots, I also tried different compositional concepts. Photo 1 features a squatting pose in the flower bushes resting my chin on my hands, mainly capturing facial expressions and bringing the viewer closer to the character's emotions. Photo 2 uses a standing landscape composition, deliberately expanding depth to seamlessly integrate the wide setting with character motion. The golden hour light was extremely brief, so the shooting pace was very fast—after coordinating camera movement and wind direction with the photographer, almost every shutter snap was tightly timed. Being immersed in such a natural setting to personally experience the character's backstory allows one to deeply enter that story-recording mindset. As for the themes of space-time and guardianship, let them remain preserved in these captured moments.
