[Tomotake Yoshino Cosplay] Memories in Senren * Banka, Captured at the Convention

This convention shoot features Tomotake Yoshino from Senren * Banka. While it's not my first time cosplaying her, slipping into this red-and-white miko attire always grants me a sense of strength imparted by the character.

Starting with outfit fidelity, the custom white wig features dual odango buns, complemented by a top hair crown, red side flower hairpieces, and dangling red cords—the soul accents of this styling. Regarding costume tailoring, to align with character settings, we adjusted shoulder width and sleeve length on the base kimono to make the overall silhouette appear lighter. The white top paired with a bold red hakama skirt and red neck bow creates striking color blocking that pops vividly under venue lighting. On my feet were black geta wooden clogs with red straps; despite walking through the exhibition hall for half a day leaving sore soles, compromising on detail was not an option to preserve character integrity.

As for props, I brought two items. One is the pale pink tassel umbrella shown in the photos, which was quite eye-catching. The photographer strategically picked a well-lit location, utilizing the venue's large trusses and natural window light alongside low-angle shots to capture the elegant atmosphere when the umbrella unfurled. The small yellow spiky object in the photos, despite its specific gameplay lore, functioned as an extension of hand gestures in these Cosplay convention photos, adding dynamic tension to the pose.

Regarding the reflection composition in Photo 3, it required close teamwork. We located a clean, dark floor surface where I lay prone, bringing my head close to the reflective edge while subtly bowing and closing my eyes. The photographer lowered the camera nearly flush with the ground to achieve that magical vertical symmetry. Executing such a perspective within a crowded convention environment was no easy feat.

Venue temperatures ran higher than expected, and this Anime-style outfit is quite thick—especially the wide sleeves and long skirt. While flowing gracefully during motion, it trapped heat easily. However, seeing fellow fans and attendees asking for photo opportunities and praising the accuracy instantly dispelled fatigue. As a cosplayer navigating a bustling hall in full costume, maintaining posture elegance is paramount; even while resting, reflexively adjusting garments and hair embodies true character immersion.

The photographer exercised refined restraint in composition, avoiding cluttered backgrounds to retain the venue's raw industrial texture, creating a captivating contrast against the character's classical, divine aura. Color clarity remains highly transparent: the white wig avoided highlight clipping under bright lights, while the red-and-white blocking remained crisp—achieving the high-quality visual texture I consistently pursue. Leaving such a tangible shadow at the intersection of ACG culture and reality is the purest joy this cosplay hobby brings.

The reference to "dialogue from memory" in the post description immediately recalled numerous story details, so I emphasized eye focus during the shoot. Rather than staring directly at the lens, gazing aside or casting eyes downward infuses static photos with narrative storytelling, avoiding hollow posing. I strove to convey a gentle yet resolute presence in movement, enabling the camera to capture her nuanced, reserved side.

Ultimately, shooting Cosplay convention photos is not merely about producing pretty pictures, but documenting my encounter with the character at a specific moment in time. Donning this attire and standing before the lens with complete dedication is the romantic essence of ACG fandom. We intentionally navigated away from crowds to shoot in quieter zones; despite walking extensively, the final visual results were delightful. I hope this fidelity resonates with everyone viewing across the screen.
