[Astra Yao cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Red-and-White Color Scheme Convention Photos Sharing

Today, I've finally sorted out the Cosplay convention photos for Astra Yao and wanted to share a few shots capturing that on-site feel. For this look, I chose an outfit incorporating red and white elements, creating a strikingly vivid visual palette. Against the backdrop of the venue's glass curtain walls, the clean, translucent texture was easily captured by the camera.

In terms of details, the off-the-shoulder design of this costume, paired with a collar encircled by pearls and a red ring decoration, naturally draws the visual center toward the neck and shoulders. The lower body features a multi-layered pleated short white skirt paired with a thigh ring adorned with pearl anklets; while such accessories are delicate, they are vital for the completeness of the overall styling. For the wig, I tried a dark blue-black straight hairstyle featuring neat bangs, matched with a white headband, which aligns more closely with the character's personality traits. The staff in my hand is custom-made, featuring a sophisticated disk structure at the top, and a bronze-gold shaft paired with a white base that carries a genuinely substantial heft when held.

The shooting location was selected along an exhibition hall corridor near the anime convention, where large floor-to-ceiling glass windows provided abundant natural illumination. Such soft, translucent lighting is a massive bonus when shooting Cosplay convention photos. In particular, the reflective material of the floor perfectly mirrored the details of the shoes and the staff, enhancing the overall sense of depth and spatial extension.

Maintaining this standing posture requires solid core strength, as the thick black platform shoes and pearl bows—though gorgeous—demand stamina for prolonged standing. Many passing photographers snapped candid shots on-site, and to present the most stable demeanor, the placement angle of the staff and weight distribution required constant tweaking. The core objective of this photo set was to project the character's detached, aloof elegance while maximizing visual layering through striking color contrast.

The wig underwent extensive detangling and smoothing preparation beforehand; while maintaining a straight, sleek appearance, keeping airy lightness and volume at the crown was essential. After putting on the headband, managing the arc of the bangs was critical to prevent a stiff, rigid look. During the shoot, I also paid close attention to the fluffiness of the skirt; if the multi-layered ruffled structure isn't properly maintained, it easily appears bulky in photos, so I kept a small comb handy on-site for quick touch-ups.

Shooting in an anime convention environment intensely tests instant camera presence amidst a noisy surrounding crowd, requiring rapid immersion into the character state. Although these are primarily static standing Cosplay convention photos, I strove to anchor the character's aura firmly. The daytime lighting leaned warm, so post-processing applied a subtle cool-toned grade to make the red-and-white costume look sharper and cleaner, aligning better with the convention's 2D atmosphere.

I am quite pleased with the overall photo output this time. Both the costume fidelity and the color scheme execution respected the original design down to the finest details. The staff's texture and skirt layering both translated wonderfully in actual shooting. If an opportunity arises next time, I'd consider trying more dynamic combat action poses to make the character feel bolder, while gathering experience for future projects as part of this Photo sharing journey.
