This time I am cosplaying Hsin from Wuthering Waves, and the overall clothing design is very layered. Let's talk about the details of this outfit first: the upper body is a black patterned tight corset, adorned with metal star accessories, red gemstones, and golden chains at the chest, while the strapped red velvet bow adds a sense of weight. To match this strong contrast of red, black, and gold, the outer coat selected heavy-textured red velvet, paired with white sheer fabric featuring ink calligraphy; the drape and glossiness look excellent under the lights. The neckline is a deep-V cut, which can well showcase the lines of the shoulders, neck, and collarbone during shooting, and a slight turn of the body can present the body curves.
In terms of styling, the Silver hair wig was layered and trimmed, with a bit of black gradient highlights at the tips, which needs to be styled beforehand with hair wax to create a messy yet structured texture. The plush Animal ears on top of the head are white with black tips; when fixing them, you need to find the right fulcrum between natural hair and the wig, hiding them with invisible clips to ensure they won't fall no matter how you move. Amber-colored contact lenses were chosen to restore the texture of animal pupils, and the makeup focuses on the eye makeup and the red mark on the forehead. A large area of red blending was used around the eyes and cheeks, cooperating with blush to create a dangerous yet charming temperament. The mark on the forehead was drawn by layering lip glaze and eyeshadow, with natural blending at the edges. A dark totem tattoo was also drawn along the body lines at the collarbone, increasing the character's enchanting feel.
When shooting this set of photos, I deliberately made some designs in expression and posture. Because the elements of the clothing itself are already very rich, if the movements are too big, the frame will look cluttered, so I chose a sitting posture, leaning forward slightly, with the left hand naturally raised and loosely resting near the shoulder. This not only showcases full curves in front of the lens, but also utilizes the blocking of the arm to make the composition fuller. Side-backlight hits the Silver hair and velvet, producing a very nice rim light on the edges. With the gaze looking slightly upward, paired with amber pupils and a natural smile, it can well capture the playful yet aggressive tension of the fox-type character. The nails were deliberately painted bright red, keeping consistent with the overall clothing color scheme.
Throughout the shooting process, the hardest part to handle was maintaining the overall shape of the clothing. The corset plus wide sleeves easily produce wrinkles when changing postures, requiring constant adjustment of the cloth flow direction at the shoulders and waist. To prevent wardrobe malfunctions, the inner wear was fully prepared, ensuring that while displaying sexy lines, the high-end feel of the frame is maintained. Doing cosplay for me is not just a restoration of appearance, but more importantly, experiencing the character's state in this scene. Hsin's setting itself carries a strong sense of mystery, and I have been trying to convey this atmosphere through the focus of my gaze and the curve of the mouth, hoping that the final presented picture lets everyone feel this dedication.
