[Venti cosplay] Terminal Procrastination: Finally Bringing This Genshin Impact Cosplay Photoshoot Out into the Sun

Halfway through retouching, it hit me: this is definitely the most exhausting shoot and the longest editing process I've ever tackled. When I first shot this Venti cosplay, the wig consisted of separate loose hairpieces. Those front strands just wouldn't cooperate—I was squatting on the ground with styling spray in my left hand and a comb in my right, wrestling with the wig for nearly an hour before barely locking it in place. Genshin Impact has so many costume and prop details: the green cape, golden cuff buttons, and the black-and-gold bow tie at the neckline. They look fantastic, but wearing them is incredibly hot. It was over 30°C on the day of the outdoor shoot, and sitting on a park rock felt like sitting in a steamer. This sitting pose was chosen for full-body framing to fully display the lines of the white stockings and the skirt hem. I really love the composition of the second photo: subject centered with a softly blurred background, perfectly highlighting the green-and-white color palette. The first bust close-up tested my facial expression control, resting my chin on my hand while playfully teasing the camera. Out of over 200 raw shots taken, my procrastination slowed my editing progress to a snail's pace—only opening the computer to edit one or two whenever I remembered, dragging it out on and off for months. There are so many details to mind in post-processing: if the saturation and brightness of the green aren't tuned right, it easily looks tacky. Under the sunlight, the highlights on the white stockings were blindingly bright, requiring curves and layer masks to tame them bit by bit so the legs wouldn't look wider than they actually are. Stray hairs around the wig edges also had to be painted out cleanly with a brush. Behind every finished cosplay photoshoot released lies endless tweaking of fabric textures, hair flow, and skin translucency. Because it was scorching hot during the shoot, expressions easily grew stiff, so I deliberately adjusted the expressions in editing to make the aura match the Anemo Archon Barbatos' breezy, dynamic, and playfully mischievous spirit. I'm not a high-output, fast-paced cosplayer; I prefer taking my time to polish. Although the editing process is tedious, it's a form of self-enjoyment. I've finally documented all the highlights of this outdoor shoot, successfully and completely capturing the Genshin Impact aesthetic without over-editing the white stockings into an unnatural chalky white. After going through photo selection, masking, and color grading, the joy is genuinely real.
