[Janus Cosplay] Azur Lane Little Angel's Fitting Time

Standing in the exhibition hall in this white sailor suit, the pleats of the skirt and the weight of the side braid remind me that I really went out today. Organizing this outfit-change look for Janus from Azur Lane, the first step was confirming the black shoulder bag and hanging acrylic charm were set. The moment the camera shutter clicked, I had gotten used to the venue's lighting and environment; the photographer's shooting rhythm made the whole Convention photography process smooth.

Regarding the design of this costume, the white cropped top is the visual focus—its waist-baring cut makes the overall feel lighter without looking heavy. The sailor collar is paired with a black neckerchief featuring gold trim along the edges, while golden buttons on the front and a dangling gold chain serve as accents, breaking up the monotony of large white and black color blocks. The white pleated skirt on the lower half also features two parallel golden stripes, echoing the metallic elements of the top. On my head sits a white sailor hat, where a red cross strap and a golden emblem make the headpiece look more three-dimensional. These details required repeated adjustments during prep to ensure no wardrobe malfunctions before the camera.

For hair color, I selected light blue, preserving straight bangs and a side braid draped over my chest with a red ribbon tied at the end. This hairstyle needed setting in advance, or it would easily untangle while walking around or posing. For makeup, the base was kept clean and translucent, the eye makeup used blue tones to match the wig, and the lip color chose a bright red, adding a touch of vitality to the cool-toned palette.

Besides the outfit itself, I brought two bags for this outing. One was a crossbody black bag with an acrylic character charm hanging on it that sways when walking to add dynamic movement. The other is the black tote bag with a clear display window shown in the photos, carefully arranged with many round badges—what everyone calls an ita-bag (pain bag). Carrying it through the convention hall easily draws attention from fellow fans.

Changing into this Anime-style outfit, I tried several poses on site for Convention photography. The first photo shows me sitting on a high stool, leaning sideways to pull at my skirt hem and reveal leg lines. The benefit of this pose is showing off the fit of both skirt and top while maintaining a natural resting state. The second pose had one hand touching the hat brim while the other gently tugged at the black neckerchief. Since the top is cropped, waist lines were prominent in this action, helping display the overall proportions of the sailor suit. The third shot was a standard standing posture, shoulder-slinging the bag, slightly angled with a direct gaze at the lens. Photo four showed holding up the clear ita-bag with both hands, standing feet together on the hall floor against a blurred convention background—a frontal standing pose that tested the outfit's symmetry.

Overhead convention venue lighting can sometimes cast heavy shadows on faces, but the photographer made special adjustments under this venue's lights, adding soft-focus effects and floating light particles in post. These edits gave the edges of the white clothes a gentle highlight, adding a touch of dreaminess. The sailor hat and shoulders in particular looked brighter and more textured thanks to the added light effects.

This Sailor suit cosplay isn't overly complicated to change into, but assembling all accessories neatly takes time. Standing before the lens in this prepped look requires quickly tuning into character state. Looking at these results, the refreshing feel of the Sailor suit cosplay paired with light blue hair accents amidst the bright indoor venue atmosphere closely matched my initial expectations.
