[Janus Cosplay] Azur Lane Pure White and Bright Red: Nanning Anime Convention Photos

The convention photos from Nanning's Yuexie anime convention and Liangya anime convention are all sorted out, and this time I'm bringing you the Azur Lane Janus original skin cosplay. Although the venue lighting was rather complex, the photographer utilized the light to create a dreamy soft-focus effect, making the white skirt hem look like it had its own glow—fitting the light, airy temperament I wanted to present.

In terms of costume, this white outfit has many design details. The feather-like collar at the neck is a highlight, which looks very eye-catching paired with a red choker. To add depth, I chose a multi-layered ruffle-stitched wide skirt with delicate gold embroidery along the hemline. Against the pure white main tone, the red bow at the waist and the red flower hair accessory on the side of the head provide great color blocking, giving the whole outfit a clear visual hierarchy.

For styling, I chose a bright blue short wig; the braided detail on the left side achieves high fidelity to the original character design, which, together with light blue contact lenses, makes the gaze look clearer. Eyebrow color was adjusted accordingly, working with clean and translucent base makeup to present a delicate yet lively facial texture. The overall ensemble looked extremely crisp at the venue, offering high recognizability across the convention.

For this shoot, I tried two different perspectives: standing and sitting. When standing, I deliberately raised one leg slightly with an upward arm movement, giving the originally heavy wide skirt a floating dynamic feel. The seated portions relied entirely on a white plush mat; whether extending my legs or sitting sideways, it highlighted the pairing of white tights with bright red patent leather high heels. The highly saturated red shoes became the visual focal point of the lower body, making leg lines appear even more slender. Although the venue background was somewhat cluttered, the photographer blurred distant softboxes, photography chairs, and passing convention visitors using a wide aperture, keeping visual focus entirely on the subject.

Meeting many fellow fans at the Nanning Anime Convention was wonderful, as everyone was quite familiar with the character. The key to cosplaying this character lies in controlling expressions—Janus possesses a quiet, well-behaved feel while concealing a touch of playfulness. Thus, I fine-tuned my expressions according to each photo's composition, resting my chin in thought at times or raising a hand to block bright lights at others, giving even static images a narrative quality. Although wearing heavy skirts and high heels all day in the hall was somewhat exhausting, seeing these final Cosplay convention photos made all previous adjustments to outfit details and searches for lighting angles feel entirely worthwhile. This pure process of trying one's best to recreate a character simply out of love is precisely the most captivating part of cosplay as a hobby.
