[Yao cosplay] An Exquisite Afternoon Tea for Honor of Kings' Little Deer Girl

Today I shot a set of cute photos during my Café daily life at a coffee shop, while enjoying a beautiful afternoon tea. The photographer's lighting layout was extremely comfortable, capturing today's look and the desserts very vividly.

First, let's talk about today's styling details. The pink twin tails wig paired with fluffy deer horns and animal ears headpiece not only enhanced the overall fairy-tale vibe but also made the look appear much softer. The purple colored contacts made my gaze look more agile, coordinating with the fine highlights and shadows of the makeup to make my facial features more three-dimensional. As for the costume, this soft girl outfit features a deep brown leather-textured strap design bordered with large areas of white fluff; this material combination provides great layering without feeling overly heavy.

The desserts and the scene are absolutely the soul of this set of photos. A substantial portion of mango soufflé pancake sat on the table, with golden mango chunks, delicate whipped cream, and mint leaves making a highly fresh color palette. Next to it was a pink-and-white gradient special drink, which perfectly echoed today's hair color and the overall pink, tender undertone. That purple plush toy was the ultimate finishing touch, adding childlike fun to the entire frame. The café's grid glass windows, warm yellow wall lamps, and wooden tables and chairs jointly forged a lazy, comfortable afternoon tea atmosphere. The lighting here is uniquely suited for shooting looks with fluffy textures; the light turns soft as it filters through the glass windows, meaning there's absolutely no need to worry about harsh reflections from the headpiece or wig.

From a professional cosplay perspective, delivering great prints isn't just about putting on clothes and wearing a wig; the facial expression and sense of interaction are equally critical. During the shoot, I balled my hand into a fist against my cheek and added a slightly tilted head posture, which made me look much more playful. The photographer also captured the catchlights in my eyes, making the entire photo look not just accurate, but incredibly alive. For characters with such a soft and cute setting, body language needs to be restrained—avoid over-exaggerating movements, as maintaining a natural cuteness is what matters most. Meanwhile, for the shooting angles, we experimented with eye-level and slightly high-angle compositions; the high-angle shots better showcase the placement of the food and plush toy on the table, giving the frame more layers.

For the post-production processing, I deliberately preserved the vibrant color saturation of the food while slightly lowering the highlights in the environment, which gave the frame more texture. This set of photos didn't undergo complex compositing; it highlights a sense of reality, just like a natural moment a friend snapped randomly at a café. I believe a good cosplayer should not only display professionalism during studio shoots but also blend the character into the scene in places filled with the flavor of daily life like coffee shops and dessert stores—this kind of everyday feel is often more touching. Furthermore, keeping the makeup clean has always been my requirement; after a whole day of shooting, the eye makeup and wig weren't messy at all, so the overall effect naturally stayed highly solid.

After the shoot, I naturally couldn't wait to dig in! The soufflé pancake was incredibly fluffy, and the rich egg aroma paired with the sweet mango filled me with happiness with every bite. The drink also carried just the right level of refreshing sweetness, perfectly cutting through any greasiness under the indoor heating. Honestly, when it comes to eating a pretty meal, the focus is never just about the food; it's more about spending a relaxing pocket of time with the things and characters you love. The hair and makeup stayed fully intact all afternoon without any obvious deformation to the hat or wig, which is one of the most gratifying things for a cosplayer.

I am highly satisfied with my overall state in this outfit today, effectively dissolving the character's cute traits into an everyday scenario. Quietly enjoying a delicacy at a café is a rare moment of relaxation. There weren't too many forced poses; this instant was captured naturally in the middle of eating and drinking, and the effect flowing naturally before the lens turned out to be the most authentic and lovely.
