This Gongsun Li Smoke of Partings cosplay set was finally wrapped and delivered smoothly at the convention. During test makeup, I already found this Chinese-style cosplay design fascinating: the standing collar and frog buttons of the modified white cheongsam preserve traditional elegance, while golden cloud motifs across the chest paired with red-and-silver shoulder armor infuse a bold martial edge. For the wig, I selected a deep blue-black tone, deliberately braiding the sidelocks and crowning them with golden antler-shaped headpieces accented with red beads on either side, making the overall silhouette instantly recognizable. For makeup, I deepened the blending of red eyeshadow, aiming to express the character's serene yet spirited gaze. The pale blue oiled paper umbrella in my hand was customized specifically for this outfit, its butterfly motifs harmonizing beautifully with the overall palette. During the shoot, the photographer guided me through several dynamic postures; the one-legged lift in the second shot was primarily intended to send the blue-gray sheer ribbon scarf billowing mid-air, enhancing kinetic visual tension. The lighting across the convention floor was rather chaotic and the crowd was massive, requiring considerable effort to keep both makeup and garments pristine. The long-handled prop carries noticeable heft, demanding solid core control to stabilize my center of gravity whenever swinging it. The resulting Convention photos turned out better than anticipated, preserving the authentic raw texture of the camera frames. Chinese-style designs like this genuinely draw immense attention at conventions, and I overheard many onlookers discussing the look while I was posing. Though exhausting, the entire experience was deeply rewarding, and during post-processing, we took care to preserve the subtle jacquard fabric textures and the metallic gleam of the accessories.
