Prepping for this Blue Archive Shimoe Koharu Cheerleader photoshoot definitely took quite a bit of effort. From a wardrobe perspective, this pink and white sailor-collared Cheerleader uniform turned out to be more form-fitting than expected. To capture the character's nuances, I made numerous adjustments to the details: for instance, the black cord and bell at the collar were re-threaded by hand to ensure a more delicate look before the lens. The pink arm warmers were crafted from carefully sourced fabric, with prints matching the original art's texture as faithfully as possible. Subtle tailoring at the waist also helped achieve a more harmonious silhouette.

For hair and accessories, the long pink wavy wig required meticulous styling—especially adding volume at the roots to support the winged, haloed cap. The pink halo prop was crafted from acrylic and anchored to the cap with thin wire; while it grew a bit heavy after extended wear, I kept my head as steady as possible to prevent it from slipping. The dark feather trims on both sides of the brim were layered by hand, achieving a textured aesthetic faithful to the character's original design. Reddish contacts paired with pink eyeshadow and blush gave the overall makeup a vibrant, healthy flush. The black choker with its trailing black cord was another key detail, and I adjusted the cord's length so it would drape naturally even during dynamic motion.

For the lower half, the white pleated skirt featured pink piped edging, finished with an oversized pink bow tied at the back of the waist. To add dimensional depth, I wore over-the-knee White stockings accented by dark straps and paired with blue-and-white high-top canvas sneakers. This combination proved very comfortable for moving around, allowing unrestricted freedom during action shots. The yellow and white fluffy pom-poms served as classic Cheerleader props—lightweight to shake and visually striking on camera. Given the diverse scenes, I alternated the stockings' styling, pulling them above the knee for some shots while letting them slouch gently around the ankles for others to create varied aesthetics.

The location simulated a classroom and sports equipment room, complete with a green chalkboard, wooden lockers, and a metal cart filled with blue-and-yellow volleyballs. The prop team also arranged floor mats, signage, and red-and-white striped poles, thoroughly infusing the scene with a campus sports atmosphere. Using volleyballs and pom-poms as interactive props, I tried sitting cross-legged on the floor, perching on desks, and leaping into the air while waving the pom-poms. Benefiting from bright studio lighting, the overall color palette radiated warmth and freshness. To capture the best frames, the photographer guided various angles—particularly emphasizing leg lines and full-body framing—as I alternated between relaxed composure and playful energy to keep the visuals natural.

The shoot was quite physically demanding. Wearing sneakers and over-the-knee stockings meant minding my footing on the slick wooden floor. Although the look is high-energy, moving around required caution to avoid wardrobe malfunctions or dropping props. The halo, in particular, needed extra care during turns and jumps. I even brought small clips to secure the hemline and wing accents, preventing awkward shifting during vigorous motion. Blending natural light with fill lights minimized harsh shadows and lent skin a clear, translucent glow. In color grading, the saturation of pink and blue was preserved to heighten the vivid 2D visual impact. Seeing the final cuts, all the meticulous preparations and adjustments came together beautifully, achieving our intended harmony between color and setting.
