This shoot experimented with multiple vastly different styles, adopting Dark Gothic style and hard-core military attire as the main keynote without any specific character setting—purely because I wanted to showcase the powerful impact of this red-and-black color contrast.

Let's first talk about the most eye-catching black-and-red long robe in the photos. The coat utilizes a leather fabric with a slight matte luster, while the inner lining is a striking, vivid red. When walking or when a breeze blows, the red lining and black outer shell create a sharp visual contrast. The metal buckles and leather straps around the waist serve to tighten the waistline, paired with a white-based double-breasted vest that visually elongates the physique while adding a touch of an austere, restrained aesthetic. The red long-fingered gloves on the hands and the military cap with goggles are the finishing touches of the entire styling; the texture of the leather and the distressed look of the metal badges give the ensemble a stronger sense of narrative.

To match different scenes, the costume pairings were also adjusted significantly. In the beach photo set, I removed the heavy leather jacket, swapped into a black bikini and denim shorts, and wore a red hibiscus flower on my head, accompanied by the gray-black long wig with red streaks, presenting a relaxed and bright summer vibe. Meanwhile, in the classical library and Gothic ruins settings, I changed into a black velvet long dress adorned with golden embroidery and cross decorations, draped over a high-collar cape with a red lining, and held a scepter prop embedded with a red ruby. One set carries the hard-core feel of heavy armor, while the other exudes an elegant, mysterious, and grandiose luxury.

In terms of makeup and hair, I wore a gray-black base wig with striking red highlights on both sides and at the tips. Such high-contrast hair color stands out remarkably well under natural light. The makeup focused heavily on the eyes, utilizing red-toned eyeshadows to deepen the contours, paired with sharp, fierce eyeliner to emphasize a cold, ruthless aura. The base makeup emphasized a clear and matte texture, because in rough, rugged environments like ruins, an overly dewy, glowing base would look jarring. The lips featured a dark-toned red to echo the overall black-and-red palette.

The compatibility between props and scenes was also carefully considered. The rusted steel of the abandoned industrial area, the stone arches draped with vines on Gothic architecture, and the cold, rugged naval guns on the warship—these backgrounds filled with strong lines and historical depth perfectly complement the exquisite and gorgeous nature of the attire. During the shoot, I kept trying to use body language to convey a sense of determination and confidence. For instance, on the warship, I would step one foot onto the turret, or let my arms stretch out naturally to showcase the spiked gloves. In the ruins, candid shots of the wind lifting the robe moments at a time often carry the most tension.

Shooting footwear matching is also of paramount importance. Thick-soled lace-up high boots, and Black stockings and high boots with a black-and-gold armor-style design not only elongated the leg proportions but also added a sense of weight, making my stride appear steadier and more powerful. The addition of black stockings visually enhanced the layering while making the leg lines smoother. This overall coherence from the tip of the hair down to the soles of the boots is the key to completing an exceptional Original cosplay.

What attracts me most about playing cosplay is the ability to sculpt completely different character temperaments through the coordination of clothing, makeup, and scenes. From the restrained sharpness of the military uniform to the gorgeous mystery of the long dress, and finally to the relaxed coziness of the beach, every press of the shutter is an exploration of self-expression. This process of building something from nothing and bringing the imagery in my mind to life step by step is full of joy in itself.
