The most challenging part of preparing this Gilberta cosplay was capturing the authentic textures of the outfit. Because Arknights: Endfield carries an inherently hardcore industrial aesthetic, the armor components were custom-molded in matte rigid material to fit bodily contours, which took considerable development time. In particular, the cutout waist structure had to deliver striking visual impact while walking without hindering joint mobility. The mechanical chest pieces paired with the armored neck collar created noticeable resistance during crouching or turning movements, thoroughly testing my physical stamina and agility on set.
The shooting location was an abandoned industrial zone slated for demolition, surrounded by exposed rebar, concrete slabs, and metal fencing that resonated naturally with the character's disposition. The afternoon sun was intense, casting an exquisite rim halo across the twintails wig under backlighting—especially in the low-angle shots of Photos 5 and 7, which pushed the atmospheric presence to its peak. However, the shooting process was demanding: balancing in heeled ankle boots across jagged concrete debris was precarious, and while adjusting positions and stances, the thigh-high Black stockings and leg garters frequently chafed against the rigid armor, requiring constant readjustment.
To complement the austere temperament of the red-and-black Tactical style combat suit, the visual framing preserved crisp, rigid geometric lines, anchored by the substantial weight of the blue-and-black mechanical lance held in hand. For seated poses like Photos 2 and 6, pairing the high-cut Black stockings with leg straps naturally contoured leg silhouettes without feeling artificially stiff. In post-processing, shadow areas were lifted while carefully retaining the matte specular sheen across the armor plates, ensuring layered lighting depth without reducing the metallic components to cheap plastic gloss. From garment textures and accessory finishing to posture and expression, every choice aimed to reflect my personal interpretation of the character. Despite the grueling conditions, capturing both the visual heft and agile spirit of the armor made the final photos exceptionally rewarding.
