Prepping for Yin Ziping at the 3rd Black Dragonfly Anime Convention took roughly a month from start to finish. This Traditional Chinese style attire features intricate layering: an inner base layer covered by jacquard patterned fabrics, with borders spliced in emerald-green sheer chiffon. The metallic waist ornaments and plush shoulder trims serve as the styling highlights; while the metal catches studio flashes with brilliant luster, it carries noticeable heft, requiring constant adjustments during posing to keep the silhouette from warping. For the wig, I selected a long straight silver-blue wig with subtle grey undertones, trimming the bangs and setting the style; because the canonical hair possesses an airy curve, hairspray and flat irons were used to sculpt natural dimensional layers.

The makeup prioritized clear, dewy translucency. The eye look layered fine blue-green shimmer with gently extended wings, paired with blue contact lenses to channel an aloof yet spirited demeanor before the lens. Given the mixed convention lighting, I picked a long-wear matte foundation locked in with a dewy setting spray, preserving glowing skin clarity even under harsh hall fixtures.

Applying for the Independent anime convention tour pass offered valuable experience this round. Following guidelines, I shared my portfolio across social media, hit the required single-day repost and comment thresholds, and submitted the application forms correctly. Though coordinating engagement took time, getting approved felt deeply rewarding. After all, Black Dragonfly boasts a 30,000-square-meter venue backed by 10 hours of blasting air conditioning—crucial comfort for wearing multi-layered Chinese garments in peak summer.

The guest lineup is stellar as well, featuring COKE, Tu Niang, YASAL, Zhi Yu, Xiao Yueyue, Wu Susu, Huainan Shiba, Biao Sang, Su Yi, LIV, and Baozha Xiao Kele. Gathering alongside so many familiar faces from August 7 to 9 at the Pazhou Inspiration Innovation Exhibition Hall maxes out the summer ACG festival hype.

To look my absolute best, I've spent recent days rehearsing key poses. With a flowing maxi train, moving around and striking stances demands extra care to prevent stepping on the hem. I also packed touch-up essentials like blotting sheets, setting powder, and lash glue, since preserving makeup integrity across an entire day at a busy convention is an endurance test.

Beyond styling, I pre-mapped my convention walkthrough. With dozens of themed zones, official IP showcases, and doujin booths, I plan to spend downtime hunting for favorite merch. I also aim to drop by the professional studio collab sets to snap more polished portraits under dedicated lighting.
