[Yin Ziping Cosplay] NARAKA: BLADEPOINT — Exclusive Shots from Firefly D3

On Day 3 of the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo, I cosplayed Yin Ziping from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. Having been working nonstop throughout the convention, I specifically picked a quieter outdoor walkway area for location shooting to avoid the complicated indoor lighting and dense crowds, yielding a much cleaner result than expected.

The overall look took a modified traditional Chinese style route, with white as the primary tone offering a refreshing feel. The collar and Chinese frog buttons with black edging break up the monotony pure white might bring. The skirt features multi-layered ruffles and tulle splicing, allowing the hemline to float naturally when walking or in a gentle breeze, preventing a rigid look. White plush balls and hanging long ribbons on the headpieces are the soul of this outfit, nicely framing the face alongside long black straight hair with straight bangs. The over-the-knee white thigh-highs outfit paired with black chunky-heeled Mary Janes creates a classic black-and-white contrast, visually elongating leg proportions while retaining a subtle retro doll charm.

The prop for this shoot was a custom folding fan featuring a black ribs design with golden spiked tips, topped with white gauze and lace decorations. This contrast between tough details and the soft costume fabric adds a sense of strength to the overall styling rather than being purely cute and soft.

Photographer NightDiva was extremely efficient, capturing facial expressions effortlessly. A fascinating wide-angle lens approach was used during convention photography, focusing primarily on focal lengths between 24mm and 37mm. In photos 2 and 6, he utilized an exaggerated foreground perspective, pushing the fan or palm directly toward the lens to create strong edge stretching and distortion. This composition yielded intense interactivity, breaking the flatness of conventional waist-up shots as a great camera experiment. Thanks to cloud cover outdoors that day, the lighting was mostly soft diffuse light without harsh highlights on the face and body, fitting Yin Ziping's cool and reserved temperament perfectly.

Midway through the shoot, we rested along the outer extension of a building beside the outdoor walkway, taking several photos using stairs and benches to vary camera heights. For instance, in the seated shots, arranging the legs crossed on the steps built a stable triangular composition that held the visual center of gravity while naturally displaying the chest cut-out details and the length of the white thigh-highs outfit. Another group was shot kneeling or leaning on a white blanket on the ground; combined with the wide-angle lens, this angle easily captured deep green trees and sky negative space in the distance, creating a natural, breathing feel. As a supplement to convention photos, this environmental semi-portrait style lets the character blend into daily scenery, making it very captivating.

The overall tone leaned cool; this clean, minimalist palette has been quite popular in photo sets this year. Looking back at this Yin Ziping cosplay photoshoot, whether under the exaggerated perspective of the wide-angle lens or eye-level angles, it blended seamlessly with the Firefly ACG Expo atmosphere. Satisfaction comes not only from the image completion, but from the implicit character-driven communication with the photography team at the convention, translating a great design into 2D imagery that allows viewers to feel the character's true charm.
