These Convention photos showcase a completely unique Bunny girl look featuring the character Yixuan. While most Bunny girl outfits people see are simple bodysuits, this design incorporates elements of naval uniforms and biker apparel, delivering a strong visual impact that made me decide to wear it to the convention. The entire outfit consists of several pieces: the outer layer is a dark blue short-sleeved uniform jacket featuring a white stand-up collar with golden metal buttons and white folded cuffs. Underneath is a black-and-white form-fitting base layer, where crossed red cords and a golden star pendant form the visual focal point of the upper body. To stay faithful to the original cut, the waist features cut-out tailoring, paired with glossy black jumpsuit shorts on the bottom. This material reflects studio light intensely, and even slight creases become magnified on camera, requiring constant adjustments during wear. The legs are paired with sheer black Stockings that have reflective stripes and glossy black high heels, complemented by short brown gloves and a round silver tray held in the right hand. Though the prop is simple, holding it elevates the character's overall presence significantly.
The wig is an ultra-long, silver-gray straight wig. To create a breezy, flowing effect, a fan was placed nearby during shooting, and the floating hair turned out much better than expected. For makeup, red cosmetic lenses were used, paired with prominent blush on the cheeks and a black marking drawn right in the center of the forehead. Because the costume contains many glossy surfaces, adjusting the studio lighting took quite a while to balance the sheen of the patent-like finish with clear facial features. Rim and side lighting beautifully sculpted the subject's silhouette and the contours of the outfit. For the first shot, I tried a standing pose with hands on hips while holding the tray with one hand; this pose really tests core stability because balancing in high heels with a slightly shifted center of gravity requires steady breathing. The second shot switched to a dynamic pose with one leg lifted and the other arm extending outward, which looked livelier and kept the composition from feeling rigid. To highlight the gloss of the black Stockings and the lines of the legs, we tested several angles, with the photographer constantly reminding me to focus my weight onto the instep.
The convention day was extremely hectic. Getting in and out of this costume was quite troublesome, and with such long hair, walking around required extra care. However, meeting so many fellow 2D enthusiasts in the hall who recognized the character, came over for photos, and exchanged ideas about styling and prop-making made it wonderful. Some fellow cosplayers even asked where I bought the tray and how to keep the glossy shorts smooth and crease-free. The best part of every convention is always this pure, welcoming community spirit—everyone gathering out of shared passion, free from outside judgment, proudly showcasing beloved characters, and sharing experiences on tailoring, prop-making, and makeup styling. This Yixuan Bunny girl look took immense effort in its costume details, from the jacket's metal buttons to the sheen of the Stockings, striving to remain as true to the original design as possible. Although completely exhausted after the con, seeing how the lighting brought out the fabric's texture in the final photos made every bit of effort worth it. These photos serve as a record of my preparations for the convention, and I will continue to explore more styles and preserve the joy of every event in photographs.
