Let's get straight to the point: this shoot features Yixuan's "Trails of Ink" outfit from Zenless Zone Zero. The tough, sleek texture of the black leather forms a striking visual harmony with the lightness and fluidity of the white pleated skirt, which is one of the most eye-catching aspects of her character design. During the recreation process, I paid special attention to the tailoring and details of the outer coat, especially the cinched silhouette around the chest and the wide white cuffs with distinctive patterns. Even though movement was somewhat restricted once worn, achieving high fidelity made it completely worthwhile. For the wig, I went with a white straight-bangs hairstyle. White hair can easily look flat or messy, so to match the official character art, I layered the bangs and crown, pairing it with the signature black hairpin to give the overall silhouette strong structure. The lower half combines the pleated skirt with a black tights outfit; the classic black-and-white contrast alongside neatly arranged metallic buckles looks exceptionally sharp. The black tights not only flatter the leg lines but also create a compelling textural contrast with the leather jacket.
Shooting on-site at the convention was actually quite challenging. The venue lighting was complex and erratic; overhead and backlights can easily overexpose white hair into a washed-out blur. Thankfully, the photographer mastered the lighting with precision, utilizing ambient venue lights and high-speed sync flash to outline layered highlights on the hair strands while preventing any facial shadowing. The blurred convention floor and red tape in the background unexpectedly served as great backdrop contrast, making the character stand out amidst the busy venue. Wearing this full gear in the early autumn convention hall was still a bit stifling, but fully bringing out the character's commanding presence turned physical fatigue into pure joy. Yixuan's master-like aura always conveys a composed yet enigmatic presence. For the posing, I deliberately chose postures with strength and clean extension—such as raising a hand to shield from light or reaching forward to hold a freeze frame—aiming to capture that calm, effortless composure in every gesture. Looking back at these convention photos now, while I wouldn't call it flawless, it certainly captured the core essence of this outfit. The joy of cosplay lies in this complete immersion into another character's persona. Huge thanks to the photographer for freezing these moments in time.
