On the third day at the outdoor area of Hatsumonogatari during the Guangzhou anime convention, I finally got the chance to shoot this school-style sailor uniform Ganyu Cosplay. The blue hair combined with her iconic black and red horn accessories, plus these semi-rimless glasses, brings out an intellectual yet playful vibe. Shot under outdoor natural light, the green belt and stone wall background look very clean, giving the final photos a casual, everyday feel. I didn't deliberately apply heavy filters, as I feel this clear, translucent tone better complements Ganyu's naturally gentle temperament in Genshin Impact.

Speaking of outfit styling, I specifically chose a dark blue sailor uniform with white trim, adjusting the tie knot multiple times to capture that authentic schoolgirl look. The pleated skirt on the lower half is just the right length, and paired with black over-the-knee socks, that exposed section of absolute territory on the upper thigh is truly the crowning touch. As a cosplayer on outdoor shoots, besides character fidelity, I also pay close attention to showcasing a distinct black tights outfit vibe in front of the lens—whether adjusting glasses, touching the collar, or simply sitting on a stone wall swinging my legs, these small gestures make the frames much more vivid. In Photo 4 sitting on the suitcase, pulling the edge of the black stockings was meant to convey a sense of "setting off" for a journey. Combined with the duffel bag beside me, it feels like a little interlude of rushing to catch a ride right after an anime convention, and I really like this composition with a touch of real-life flavor.

The sunlight on the day of the shoot was actually quite glaring, but the photographer found very comfortable angles that made the skin look translucent. Paired with magenta contact lenses and youthful lip colors, the makeup wasn't overly heavy, preserving my own natural features nicely. A great perk of shooting convention photos outdoors is the relaxed atmosphere; even with occasional passersby, the blurred green foliage in the background makes the subject pop even more. Many feel that cosplaying Ganyu requires wearing her gorgeous traditional attire, but I think trying a casual, sailor-uniform-style cosplay is equally worthwhile—it preserves her core character traits while bringing out an approachable charm distinct from her battle state.

For school-style photos like these, I personally prefer clean compositions, so I didn't add fancy props, relying only on the suitcase and a metal mesh wall for support. The entire set uses a similar color tone for strong visual unity. The photo selected as the cover balances leg extension with relaxed hand gestures, making it visually striking. Since this was shot outside the Guangzhou convention, there were no complex studio lights—relying entirely on natural light to reveal fabric textures. This is one of my favorite recent outdoor experiences; from wig styling to glasses positioning, every detail was tuned to reflect the character's everyday life state rather than forced posing.
