[Yixuan cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Cool Demeanor and Light and Shadow of Descending the Mountain - Image 1

Today I shot a set for Yixuan's film-like outfit. Since the weather was nice, the light was actually quite complex, and we managed to capture those symmetrical steel frame structures at the top of the venue. The material of this costume is indeed special—the black Patent leather jacket has prominent reflections under studio lights, which, paired with a white shirt collar and that small blue ornament, makes the upper body structure look very exquisite. Combined with the pleated white skirt below, the black-and-white contrast is striking.

The posture sitting on the black high-low stool was something I wanted to emphasize. Thigh and calf lines achieved a slender look by adjusting the stool's height. The bottom fill-light cube was the highlight of this lighting setup, fully bringing out the texture of the Glossy stockings. Casting this bottom light onto shoe surfaces, leg surfaces, and clothing edges gives materials a more premium feel, avoiding dullness caused by monotonous flat lighting. The white wig shows distinct layers under top lighting, requiring constant hair strand grooming during shooting to avoid frizzy edges.

To complement the state of "suitable for descending the mountain," the makeup was deliberately made clean and cool, with slightly upturned eyeliner. Contrasting against the venue's massive space and towering trusses actually highlighted the subject as the visual focus. When doing Cosplay photography with such dramatic materials and dark backgrounds, lighting is truly key. If light sources are clamped down too hard, patent leather easily blurs into a blob of glare; if light is scattered too loosely, Glossy stockings won't exhibit that fluid shimmer. Utilizing bottom light sources and ambient light from obliquely above perfectly balanced the overexposure issue common to high-reflection fabrics.

Regarding props, semi-transparent items were used, slightly raised during snapshots to add an airy, flowing touch. Beyond emphasizing leg advantages, the seated posture retained the character's cool yet sharp, valiant trait. Despite wearing platform heels, adjusting posture on the stool was quite manageable. Descending the mountain summarizes not only the day's itinerary, but also a sense of relief after wrapping up the shoot. As a daily photo log, one doesn't necessarily need to chase extremely ornate scenes; spacious indoor areas combined with reflective materials actually create a unique sense of independent space-time.

Focusing attention on hairstyle, facial expression, and outfit texture, spending an entire day immersed in a shoot like this is super interesting. The Patent leather jacket surface of this gear is actually quite prone to leaving marks, so extra care must be taken during shooting. But correspondingly, photos with this fabric deliver strong visual impact. Beyond visually extending the legs, the effect created by bottom fill light gives the whole image a strong modern feel and a sense of combat presence. Subtle light on the shoe tips and the stitching of highlighted parts enhanced the completeness of character portrayal.

In fact, looking at the monitor playback during rest breaks, that high contrast combined with distinct white hair features offered great visual recognition. In post-processing, preserving this glossy, oily texture alongside appropriate environmental vignetting was, in my opinion, the expression most fitting for this outfit's setting. Sharing this set of photos is also sharing a weekend immersive recreation process. Rather than shooting just for output, it's about enjoying the experience of becoming another character for an afternoon. From base makeup to detailed dressing, cooperation across every step achieves overall effect unity. I love finding that precise emotional state in front of the lens and enjoying the changing luster of clothing fabrics under the light.
