This uniform design for Ichinose Asuna is genuinely an absolute classic, and today I finally got around to shooting it. The White shirt paired with a navy bow tie and Pleated skirt delivers a clean, refreshing palette, which, combined with black knee-high Stockings and platform loafers, overflows with youthful campus vibes. To faithfully recreate the character, I prepared a waist-length light blonde wig alongside vivid blue contact lenses. The blue halo effect floating above my head was added in post-production; although I had to mentally picture its placement during the shoot, the finished result looks seamlessly integrated, maxing out that sci-fi flair.
The shooting location was set on a pedestrian overpass with blue railings and an open lot parked with blue race cars and buses. The sunlight was brilliant that day, providing ample illumination that matched Asuna's bright, sunny personality flawlessly. To capture natural motion, I walked back and forth across the area carrying a handbag and my phone, resulting in numerous candid snapshots. Because the skirt is a pleated design, sitting down required extra care to align the pleats and prevent awkward creasing. The beauty of knee-high stockings lies in how well they sculpt leg lines—subtle angle tweaks before the camera effortlessly yield fantastic proportions.
This shoot granted me a deeper appreciation of the character. Beyond just the styling, what matters most is channeling that confident yet subtly languid demeanor. When posing, I kept my posture as relaxed as possible, avoiding staring rigidly at the lens to evoke an effortless, casual magnetism. For anyone looking to cosplay this character, I recommend dedicating ample care to wig maintenance: waist-length hair tangles easily, so specialized detangling spray and curling irons are essential to maintain silky smoothness. For the wardrobe, the shirt must be pressed crisp and the pleats on the skirt well-ironed in advance, as these foundational details directly dictate final photo quality.
On the makeup side, I wore cool-toned blue contacts to highlight her signature gaze, opting for clean and natural eye makeup rather than heavy shadow, accented by soft aegyo sal highlights to brighten the eyes. Due to the intense sunlight, the photographer used a wide aperture and fast shutter speed to tame ambient highlights, leveraging the environment's blue reflective surfaces to bathe the images in a crisp, sleek sci-fi tone. The inclusion of the handbag and smartphone injected storytelling and slice-of-life charm into the frames. To emphasize that schoolgirl realism, I incorporated small gestures like straightening the bow tie and glancing down at my phone, ensuring the photos felt alive rather than like rigid poses.
