A lot of meticulous work went into the details of this Youhu styling. For the wig, a light blue base was selected; after tying both sides of the crown into buns, hair pomade was applied first to smooth down frizz before setting the loose strands with styling spray. For the headwear, the combination of gold coins and the white hat required multiple bobby pins to stay firmly anchored on top, with the blue floral hair clip on the side serving as an eye-catching touch.

The makeup focused heavily on the eyes. To recreate the character's luminous clarity, high-pigment bright blue colored contacts were chosen. A reddish eyeshadow palette was swept generously across both the upper and lower eyelids; paired with a dropped lower lashline technique and dense false eyelashes, it dramatically enlarged the eyes. The eyebrows were bleached or concealed so the overall makeup centered visual focus onto the eyes. The base emphasized radiance, layering highlights on the nose tip, cheeks, and chin, finished with a glossy lip tint to keep lips plump and dewy.

In terms of clothing, this white sleeveless top features subtle textures printed with gray geometric meander patterns, structured with a mandarin collar. The dark gray choker around the neck pairs with the silver ring prop at the chest, which is embedded with a blue star ornament in the center. A yellow cord knot hangs along the front, requiring precise length and tightness adjustments to prevent it from skewing during takes. For hand accessories, plain dark gray gloves and blue-and-white spliced gloves with wavy edges were alternated, adding visual depth to hand gestures.

Throughout shooting, expression management was honestly the biggest test. Youhu has a very spirited personality, so I incorporated gestures like sticking out my tongue, poking my cheek, and glancing sideways. These micro-expressions shatter the stiffness of bust portraits, making the frame much more narrative. The indoor lighting was slightly dim during shooting, so a soft key light was added directly in front of the face, complemented by rim light from the rear side, which enhanced the dimensional highlights on the face without letting the wig appear flat.

In pose choreography, hand placement was pivotal. Touching the cheek lightly with an index finger or gently resting the back of the hand near the chin while looking straight into the lens, as seen in the photos, naturally cultivated that confident and mischievous demeanor. The meander lines on the garment are quite intricate, so compositionally, ample breathing room was left around the upper body to display the garment patterns completely.

Whenever cosplaying 2D characters with high-saturation palettes, doing a makeup trial under natural light beforehand is essential to evaluate the harmony between contact lenses and eyeshadow shades. During shooting, one must also keep a vigilant eye on the wig's condition, readjusting immediately if the bun placement shifts. Only by aligning these physical details with authentic expressions can the character's inherently agile, lively charm truly come alive.
