This Yuno outfit went through a lot of preparation from the concept art to the actual physical realization. To restore the temperament of this Wuthering Waves character, I put a lot of thought into choosing the wig. This kind of bright blue twin-tails can easily look frizzy if it only relies on ordinary dyeing. When customizing, I specifically requested a gradient transition and curling degree for the hair strands. The wing-shaped metal hair accessory on top and the black-and-blue strap details also balanced lightweight design with accuracy as much as possible.
The color scheme logic of the clothing is very clear, with a large area of white fabric paired with a metallic gold breastplate and armguards, as well as blue ring decorations embellishing the waist. To prevent the white fabric from looking cheap under the sunlight, a relatively thick material with a good drape was chosen for the clothing. The rigid armor parts used TPU and EVA for cutting, and the edge polishing and coloring tried to stay as close to a metallic texture as possible. When wearing it, it needs to be fixed with straps; the overall fit is quite good, but the range of movement was still somewhat limited, especially when making large movements, one needs to pay attention to the stress points of the fabric.
I think the construction of the shooting environment was a very important part of this photoshoot. The Roman columns and the blue fret patterns on the floor give the entire frame a strong sense of classical mythology. The on-site florist helped prepare a large area of white and blue colored flowers for embellishment, which, paired with the large area of floor-to-ceiling window light sources, makes the blue and white palette look exceptionally translucent and clean when the light shines directly down. This high-intensity illumination is actually a real test for the coser, because the light forms strong highlights on the metallic reflective parts; if the light position is slightly off, large shadows will be generated on the face, but the photographer's control in this area was highly professional.
During the shoot, to align with the theme, we designed quite a few interactive movements. For example, in the photo holding the blue prop ball, it was paired with a slight curling of the fingertips to simulate a sense of control. Since the skirt hem and the silk ribbons of the outfit are quite flowing, the photographer had me always maintain a stable body center of gravity so that the resulting composition wouldn't look loose. Later, when I got tired from shooting, I sat directly on the blue-and-white patterned steps, leaning halfway against the column. This also happened to cater to the relaxed setting of "falling down" in the post's caption, making it the most relaxing moment of the shooting day.
Regarding makeup, to adapt to the bright studio light, the overall base makeup was applied thin and translucent, while the eye makeup utilized a cooler color palette to echo the hair color and pupils, and the light blue colored contacts worn also made the gaze look clearer. When checking the raw photos after the shoot was completed, I found that the texture of this look under light and shadow is indeed excellent, with high color saturation without being glaring, and the overall visual impression is very crisp and clean. Although the shooting plus wrapping up took a long time, being able to concretize this character from my own understanding is a highly satisfying experience in itself. Yuno's design possesses a cute and lively side, while that armor also hints at the character's hidden sense of strength.
Every time before a shoot, I actually look forward to seeing what the final photos will look like, and this time didn't disappoint me either. In the prepared scene of European white columns and blue floor tiles, wearing this costume allows me to quickly enter the character's state. The light effect adjustments in the post-processing also preserved the translucent feel I wanted, without excessive filters, allowing the detailed texture of the clothing to be retained. I hope to convey this unique charm exclusive to the character to everyone through this photoset. This is some of my shooting experience for this Yuno cosplay photoshoot; the whole process was quite fulfilling, making it a great piece of anime cosplay and role-playing game art.
