For this Patchouli cosplay photoshoot, the core tone I established was a serene time enveloped by wisteria and grimoires. The visual aesthetics of this shoot were crafted through vast fields of pink and purple floral arrangements and a warm, golden glow. To accentuate the character's witch persona, the photographer deliberately selected vintage furniture with intricate carvings as the background, arranging stacked heavy tomes and antique candlesticks across the table. The wig featured a gradient from pale pink to soft purple, paired with vintage semi-rimless glasses that perfectly brought out her intellectual depth and bookish aura. The mob cap used numerous ribbons and bows to add volume, making the composition feel rich and complete. To capture the character's everyday habit of flipping through books, I specifically chose a quill pen and heavy tomes as props.

We experimented with many angles during the shoot, and my absolute favorite was the panoramic shot where I sat on the carpet, lifting my skirt hem slightly to reveal the white stockings. My leg lines looked well-proportioned under the warm light, harmonizing with the elaborate lilac floral arrangements around me to convey a tranquil, gently languid mood. The light falling on my face, paired with a soft-focus filter, gave the frame an oil-painting-like texture. Throughout the shoot, I communicated with the photographer on composition, utilizing wooden furniture and flowers as foreground elements to add spatial depth. During post-processing, I specifically requested preserving the original vintage tones, muting cooler colors while emphasizing a matte pink-purple haze. This Vintage dress has an abundance of details that took considerable effort to arrange. Every large-scale set shoot like this is a major test of physical stamina and patience.

The set was adorned with various silk flowers; to complement the soft purple theme, I carefully curated purple lilacs, orchids, and grapes as accents, infusing the scene with classical courtly opulence. The white stockings showed a delicate texture under the lighting, balancing the overall color palette and sharpening the warm-cool contrast. For the makeup design, instead of heavy eye makeup, we emphasized the aegyo sal (tear troughs) and the subtle curve of the eyeliner to evoke a maiden's innocent demeanor. The large bows on both sides of the hair glowed with mint green and pink sheens under the lights, serving as delightful styling highlights. Though the shoot was exhausting, seeing the quiet librarian in the finished photos left me deeply fulfilled. This experience was not only a high-quality role-play but also a renewed exploration of lighting and styling.
