For this shoot of Yu Linglong's Red Thread of Destiny skin from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, a lot of preparation went into everything from the initial makeup design to the final photos. The character's in-game appearance is very distinct; the outfit, dominated by red and pink tones paired with plush elements, combines traditional style elegance with playful, vibrant anime charm. It's a look I have always wanted to recreate.

Let's talk about costume details first. The crop top uses a lustrous red fabric stamped with golden patterned foil around the edges, with various bead strings and blue-and-gold pendants hanging across the chest and waist. While these accessories look exquisite, we had to constantly watch their orientation during shooting; if they reflected light at the wrong angle or got tangled, we had to pause and readjust them. The skirt on the lower half features a red-and-pink gradient design made of light material with excellent drape. Pink plush balls hang on both sides of the skirt, echoing the overall fluffy theme. To complement the overall mood, I specially added red foot wraps. Against the white fur backdrop, the barefoot look wrapped in thin straps effectively elongates the leg lines visually, making both standing and sitting poses look more dynamic.

As for the head styling, this long pink wig presents a very soft matte texture under studio lighting. It's thick and voluminous, which, paired with the fluffy animal ears on top, nicely frames the face and optimizes head-to-body proportions. The ears were crafted with great care—fluffy pink fur on the outside, accented at the base with small red flower hairpin ornaments and beaded hairpins. When wearing them, because the ears are quite large, we had to carefully adjust the hair clips and connection points between the wig and ears to ensure they wouldn't tilt due to gravity when I turned or tilted my head, maintaining stability throughout the shoot.

The location for the shoot was a Chinese classical-style space. The dark wooden lattice screen in the background and the red maple leaves decorated beside it laid a warm-toned foundation for the entire frame. When designing this set, the core idea was using dark wood textures to contrast against the red outfit and white fur. Sitting on a daybed covered with a large white fur rug, the brightening effect of the white was very pronounced, making the red skirt pop vibrantly in the shot while the soft, fluffy texture added a gentle touch to the scene's aesthetic. A dark solid wood lockbox was placed nearby as a traditional-style prop to enrich compositional layers.

In terms of body language, the focus was on capturing Yu Linglong's confident, cunning, and seductive allure. For instance, in close-up shots, I lightly touched my lips with a finger in a "shh" gesture, paired with direct eye contact to emphasize a composed sense of control. In full-body compositions, I tried crossing my legs, resting my chin on one hand, or gesturing with raised hands. These poses showcased tailoring details while breaking the static feel of a single sitting posture, bringing a dynamic, interactive atmosphere to the photos. During the shoot, I continuously adjusted the angles of my arms and legs under the photographer's guidance so that the bead drops and skirt folds fell in ideal positions.

Honestly, accurately depicting a character so familiar to players is quite challenging. From wearing costumes and props to mastering facial expressions and movements, every single detail impacts the final photographic quality. During post-production color grading, we intentionally preserved the light and shadow textures without overusing soft-focus filters. Instead, we ensured facial contours and fabric textures remained clearly visible, creating a final visual presentation that captures both atmosphere and authentic detail to convey the character's original charm.
