[Yunlong cosplay] Azur Lane Yunlong, an ocean fantasy intertwined with blue and white

A lot of thought went into this Yunlong costume from the design draft to the final realization. The character setting in Azur Lane itself carries strong marine and fantasy attributes, so in the overall presentation, I focused on emphasizing visual elements of water ripples, waves, and the starry sky. To restore the single horn on top of the head and the extended horn-like structures on both sides, I repeatedly adjusted the wearing angle in the early stages to ensure it was both stable and not awkward in front of the lens. The wig uses deep blue long straight hair with bright blue highlights, paired with blunt bangs to frame the face shape, and a small white flower hair accessory on the side of the forehead is the finishing touch.

The layering of the costume is extremely rich. The deep blue fabric of the upper body features delicate dark patterns, and the off-the-shoulder design combined with a large area of light blue translucent three-dimensional floral decorations on the shoulders visually resembles surging waves. The starry sky gradient pattern on the chest paired with magnificent golden chest ornaments increases the overall gorgeousness and weighty feel. The embroidered waist cincher at the waist blends cyan-green and blue, with white plush tassels hanging in the very center, creating a great drape when walking or posing. The sleeves are very wide, with white and blue alternating wave lines printed on the edges; during the shoot, I tried lifting the sleeve hems to showcase the lightness and ethereal flow of the fabric.

The makeup chose blue-grey contact lenses to echo the overall tone, the eye makeup leans cold, and the lip color maintains a natural light pink. This studio portrait used a pure white high-key background; this kind of lighting severely tests the texture of the costume material and skin, but at the same time, it creates an extremely clean color contrast between the deep blue fabric and the pure white sheer tulle skirt. To highlight the see-through feel of the lower body, I intentionally leaned or sat on a white geometric prop, adjusting my sitting posture to let the white tulle skirt spread out naturally, revealing subtle lace edges.

During the materialization process of an anime character, the structure of the clothing is often more important than mere visual appeal. The shoulder floral decorations and waist of this outfit require sufficient support to maintain a three-dimensional shape without collapsing. While shooting these photos, I tried to maintain a calm and slightly detached expression to match the character's cool and ethereal atmosphere. The focal point of the gaze and the movements of fingers gently stroking the hair or hanging accessories were all completed in a slow rhythm. I am quite satisfied with the colors and lighting of this photo set, recording this complete attempt with cool tones intertwined with blue and white.
