Pre-production for this Honor of Kings Daji Headcanon / Original setting Location shoot photo series took quite some time. Being a personal design, I incorporated some of my own ideas into the costume styling rather than sticking strictly to the canon model, steering toward a red-and-yellow color-blocked modern Japanese-style cut. The wardrobe features a bold red off-the-shoulder outer robe embroidered with purple floral patterns across the sleeves, layered over a white bandeau top and a yellow-based sash, finished with a grand red peony blossom accent at the waist. The skirt features a slit cut, making it effortless to elongate and showcase slender leg lines whether moving around a studio or on location. For hair and makeup, I deliberately opted for an orange-yellow gradient wig with voluminous wavy bangs up top, matched with matching oversized plush beast ears and a thick, pale-yellow tail. Face makeup incorporated reddish-brown eyeshadow blending, winged eyeliner, vibrant red contact lenses, and crimson beast marks painted along both cheeks. My nails were styled in a delicate teal-blue manicure, which—paired with the long pipe prop—infused every gesture with the alluring presence of a fox spirit. The shooting location was a lush green lawn on a beautifully sunny day; dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy grazed across the fabric, and the sharp contrast between red and green proved exceptionally photogenic in natural daylight. The photographer guided numerous poses: spreading open the crimson sleeves while standing to reveal the waist strapping and leg silhouettes; glancing back sideways while letting the tail sway with the breeze; and gently resting the pipe against my cheek or across my chest when seated, while close-up angles focused purely on the sultry allure of my gaze. In post-production, we gently tuned the overall color grading to enrich the depth of the reds and softened the background bokeh to make the subject pop, while applying detailed finishing touches to the skirt pleats and the fur texture of the tail. Overall, the makeup and wig harmonized wonderfully; although shaping the beast ears and securing the heavy tail were somewhat tedious, all that prep work was entirely worth it for the stunning final selects in this Anime cosplay project.
