A white shirt paired with black harness straps, a bright red tie, and striking, high-impact black horns overhead—this Wuthering Waves Zani styling delivers tremendous visual impact through sheer color contrast. To achieve the most ideal results in these photos, every single stage required meticulous control, from early preparations to the final shoot. For the wig, I selected a pure white base model and paid special attention to crafting the red gradient at the tips. Cutting and texturing took considerable time to recreate those messy, layered strands—especially the bangs, which needed to just graze the brow bone to accentuate the intensity of the eyes. For makeup, the red contact lenses were the very soul of the look, paired with slightly sharp eyeliner strokes to reinforce the character's cool detachment. The beauty mark below the left cheek was also deliberately placed, as small details often elevate the overall authenticity the most.
The pair of black horn props on my head was the absolute centerpiece of this styling. To reduce the weight on my head, I crafted them from lightweight EVA foam, spray-painted them with a matte black finish, and hand-carved overlapping textures onto the surface. For fastening, hidden hair clips and thin transparent monofilament wires were used to ensure the horns stayed sturdy and natural from shifting camera angles, remaining firmly in place even during abrupt head movements. During the shoot, adjusting the black straps and metal chains was equally demanding. The white shirt had to remain crisp and smooth, the red tie knot needed to be full and centered, and the black leather harness across the chest and shoulders required the exact right tension—sculpting the silhouette without causing distracting creases in the fabric during movement. The round metallic badge and fine chain on the right chest served as delicate accents, lending a subtle metallic gleam to the overall black-white-red palette.
The core design philosophy for this character is conflict wrapped in minimalism: the clash between black and white, accented by high-saturation red, creates immediate visual recognition. The red not only lives in the tie, but also echoes the gradient hair tips and eye color, striking a delicate chromatic balance across the frame. The shoot took place beside a staircase set against a textured gray concrete wall. This minimalist industrial background framed the character's colors flawlessly without cluttering the scene. As for lighting, we relied primarily on soft, frontal-side natural light to gently illuminate the face while keeping the red eyes bright and piercing even in the shadows. Since the visual focus of this ensemble centers on the head and upper body, we used close-up, half-body compositions, capturing subtle downward tilts and side profiles to sculpt facial contours into sharp dimension. The horns, makeup, and garment accessories achieved their intended textures under the lens, making for a truly complete visual journey. Overall, it was a deeply harmonious creative endeavor across prop making, styling, and photographic expression—from the collision of colors to the selection of materials, every effort was made to bring that vision to life, leaving me with a profoundly fulfilling experience.
