[Cartethyia Cosplay] An Elegant Glance Back Amid the Interlacing of Blue and White

"Righteous One, let me become your sword!" The emotional tension of this line is exactly the core tone I wanted to carry through in this shoot. After getting familiar with the shooting location, we quickly decided on this set of photos filled with fantasy colors.

Let's talk about the costume details first. The most attractive part of this outfit is its lightweight yet layered design. The main body utilizes sheer gradient tulle transitioning from pure white to deep sea blue. This material has excellent light transmission, so when lighting on-site, special care was needed to balance both the transparency of the fabric itself and the three-dimensional feel of the body. The black inner wear and criss-cross straps add a visually tightening effect, while the draping white shawl and fine metal chains form a beautiful collision of materials. The straps on the arms and the decorative leg accessories provide just the right accents to the overall proportions. To fit the elf ear characteristics of the character's setting, I put on custom pointed ear props for this elf ears cosplay, which, paired with light-colored circle lenses, enhance the overall otherworldly look.

The core of this shoot lies in the transmission of the gaze and the control of body language. In these photos you see, I chose to present sitting and kneeling postures on the stairs. The first photo is a glance-back angle that I personally love. This pose seems casual, but it actually requires controlling the twist angle of the waist and the relaxation of the shoulders and neck to make the turn look both natural and sharp, without ruining the draping trajectory of the tulle on both sides of the skirt. The second and third photos are side close-ups of holding the prop with both hands. This action requires even force from the elbows, both to stabilize the balance of the tray and to keep the arm lines flowing in the frame, avoiding stiffness from muscle tension.

The background of the scene features gothic openwork carved windows with blue backlighting, paired with white marble angel sculptures on both sides, constructing a highly sacred yet cold environment. This high-contrast, cool-toned ambient light really tests the photographer's lighting skills, as they must prevent underexposure on the face while keeping the blue light in the background deep and mysterious. In post-processing, we overlaid the special effect of that white, softly glowing chibi creature onto the original environment. It has a playful emoticon expression. This huge contrast between the cool temperament and the cute creature adds a wonderful sense of ease and narrative to the entire set, as if I were being followed by some magical little sprite.

During the shoot, I also made some different attempts with the props. That silver long sword with gold and blue embellishments was placed horizontally on the steps in the first pose, which not only added foreground layers to the image but also gave the overall frame a sense of weight. Meanwhile, another golden square tray focused on showcasing a sacred, ceremonial sense of offering. In fact, every press of the shutter is a search for the best balance among the character, light and shadow, and the scene.

Although the overall color tone of this set is on the cooler side, carrying a distant, untouchable feeling, the process of communicating with the photographer and adjusting the positions of the props and skirt hem during breaks was actually very relaxed. Being able to restore a setting into concrete imagery brings a sense of achievement that often stems from polishing the details. The cut and color scheme of this outfit made the entire shooting process highly comfortable, without too much restriction. I truly enjoyed dancing with the light in the studio, and I hope to convey that cool, resolute, and somewhat ethereal artistic conception through the lens. Every final photo you see actually has many repeated adjustments of light refraction, fabric flow, and emotion capture behind it—this is precisely what makes Wuthering Waves cosplay photography most fascinating and challenging.
