[Miyazono Kaori Cosplay] Melody Under the Chenshan Sakura: Your Lie in April - Image 1

Waking up at 4 AM and leaving home before dawn to rush to Chenshan Botanical Garden, all just to secure the best camera positions before the tourist foot traffic increased at the scenic spot. Spent over an hour on the road with a very tight schedule, so makeup and styling the wig were basically done in the car or during brief gaps. Looking back, this was truly my hardest-working episode recently.

The weather that day wasn't actually very cooperative. The sky was gloomy without any sunlight, so the overall color contrast and translucent feel of the entire sakura forest didn't look ideal at first. I was worried that the captured images would look depressing or dull, but luckily, my companion Teacher Tu was highly experienced and prepared lights in advance, setting up a light position on site to simulate a sunlight effect. Once the lights turned on, the originally grey atmosphere instantly received a qualitative upgrade, and the feeling of being enveloped by soft light allowed the photos to ultimately present a highly natural and warm light and shadow texture.

Choosing to shoot at Chenshan Botanical Garden this time was mainly because I took a liking to the vast sakura forest paths here. A low-angle shot combined with the spatial compression of a telephoto lens perfectly merges the lushness of the sakura trees with the smallness of the character standing under them, constructing a classic and vibrant wide panoramic composition. I usually love wide-scene cosplay photography; compared to highly confined studio shoots, the frame gains a lot of vivid, narrative-driven vibes amidst the real breeze, drifting petals, and natural light. Standing under this sea of flowers with the violin prop in hand, my mind was actually very quiet. There was no need to deliberately force complex poses in front of the lens; I just needed to naturally look up into the distance or turn sideways to glance back, and the emotional resonance of the entire frame was already very full.

Since I am still a rookie cosplayer, I always get a bit nervous before going to outdoor locations, repeatedly checking if the wig is messy or if the uniform is wrinkled. This outfit is relatively simple—a greyish-blue blazer jacket paired with a pleated skirt and black over-the-knee socks, combined with long golden hair and a violin—the overall visual representation is very clear. The prop here is more than just a decoration; it heavily helped me enter the character's state, making it feel like a frozen moment occurring naturally at a story scene rather than a rigid staged shoot.

Although the early preparation was exhausting and I got very little sleep, combined with the uncooperative weather, seeing the final photos of this wide flower sea scene made me feel that all the early rising and long travel were completely worth it. Almost no major changes were made in post-processing, retaining the color direction and spatial perspective of that time to a large extent. That refreshing spring atmospheric vibe was already fully present. In a few days, I will release all the organized final photos, by which time more details and compositions in the frames should bring a more complete viewing experience. This teaser preview counts as a joyful little snippet of outdoor photography to share with everyone.
