Sharing the photoshoot experience of this Yae Miko cosplay, focusing on the details of preparation and the shooting process. Rather than chasing overly intricate backgrounds, this official shoot prioritized fidelity to the Genshin Impact character and the tactile presentation of textures.

First, regarding the Anime-style makeup and styling: grooming the wig with Long pink hair took considerable time. The original design has distinct layers, with bangs sporting a subtle curve that must be trimmed and set along the hair's natural flow to avoid falling flat. Selecting the purple contact lenses was equally meticulous, as purple light transmission varies under different lighting. For eye makeup, the emphasis was on elongating and smudging the eyeliner to complement smooth eyeshadow transitions, paired with a reddish glossy lip tint to sculpt facial dimension faithful to the setting.

The costume details were just as critical. Fabric choice for the white off-shoulder top was crucial—it needed structure without being stiff. The golden chest accessories and purple flower crest have significant heft, requiring secure pinning to prevent shifting mid-shoot. We also spent time adjusting the tightness of the black ties and golden clasps at the cuffs, keeping them natural without constricting movement. The Fox ear headband and golden headpieces atop my head were reinforced multiple times with hairpins to ensure they stayed anchored during head turns.

In terms of shooting, the first photo directly faced the camera, utilizing warm backlighting from the left to create translucency through the hair. Direct frontal shots demand precise focal control of the gaze—looking straight into the lens without appearing vacant. The second photo transitioned into a reclining pose on my side, which heavily tested bodily extension and silhouette: raising the arm naturally while gently dropping the shoulders caught diffused light streaming from the window, beautifully highlighting the neck, shoulder contours, and collarbones. We continually fine-tuned positions and reflector angles to guarantee seamless transitions between highlights and shadows.

Throughout the session, I reflected on how best to embody the character's soul—not merely wearing the garments, but capturing her demeanor through subtle gestures. The shift in her gaze, the elegance of her posture, and that composed serenity when facing the lens all require patient exploration. Although tuning the wig and accessories was exhausting, I thoroughly enjoyed the process. Readjusting angles whenever things felt off paid off with results I'm genuinely pleased with, preserving key details while avoiding excessive retouching.
