[Kamisato Ayaka cosplay] Genshin Impact Shirasagi Himegimi's Fan Dance Convention Share

Bringing my folding fan to the Wuhan AB ACG Carnival this time, I fully presented this Kamisato Ayaka look. The lighting at the convention was actually slightly cooler than expected, but it happened to pair perfectly with the blue-and-white costume palette, creating a clear and ethereal atmospheric feel under the overhead lights.

On the costume side, the parts requiring the most care were the long blue ribbons and the white fluff along the edges. In a crowded venue like a comic convention, long ribbons are easily stepped on, so extra attention was needed when moving around and posing. I tried opening my arms wide, using upper-body movements to let the soft fabrics and tassels drape naturally or flutter in the air, fully expressing the costume's built-in layering. In particular, the blue folding fan served as the visual focal point in my hands; its opening angle and the position of the tassel-adorned handle directly determined the photo's tension. Sometimes, capturing the perfect angle of the fan fully spread required many repeated takes.

For the wig, I selected a long, straight silver-blue color. To preserve the fluffiness of the side twintails, extra volume was added at the crown and ends. The gold-trimmed blue bow on top echoed the pink bow ornaments on both sides, drawing visual focus toward the face. Paired with subtle pink eyeshadow at the outer corners of my eyes, it gave the overall look a touch of gentleness and liveliness. The fluffy collar curve needed to avoid looking bulky, while the large blue waist bow with hanging tassels tested my patience, as even a moment's inattention would cause knots to twist or slide down. Ensuring smooth overall lines during Cosplay photography meant spending considerable time just tweaking these accessories.

During the shoot, I attempted several different poses and states. Standing on one leg while raising the folding fan required core strength to maintain balance. The mid-air jump shots demanded high landing stability, yet those were also the most dynamic. Sitting on the floor or taking a half-kneeling posture allowed the costume to spread across a large footprint, looking immensely elegant alongside the long ribbons. Compared to rigid static standing poses, I felt this outfit was better suited for dynamic motion to break static monotony—whether it was wide sleeves and feather trims fluttering as I turned, or the motion blur of the fan flipping in my hand, it felt less like simply pressing the shutter and more like engaging in a meaningful dialogue with the character.

On my feet this time were black-soled platform geta sandals with pink-and-blue color-blocked bow thongs. Since geta sandals have rigid soles, walking around the hall all day took a physical toll on my feet, but to elongate leg lines and establish good proportions with the heavy skirt, I endured wearing them across the venue. Fortunately, the sandals didn't look clunky on camera. For makeup, I kept things clean and translucent, avoiding heavy contour shadows and pairing with a clear lip color to convey a crisp visual feel. Since convention spotlights often wash out makeup details, my makeup artist made moderate adjustments to highlighting and color saturation, ensuring eye and facial expressions remained vivid even under flashbulbs.

Looking back at the photos, the rows of spotlights on the venue ceiling were actually a rather overwhelming light source. However, the photographer used a wide aperture and telephoto lens to blur out passing convention crowds and booth backgrounds into soft bokeh highlights and shadows. This preserved the authentic, bustling energy of the room without forcibly erasing the lively real-world environment, allowing these Convention photos to retain both two-dimensional character traits and a sense of warm real-world life.

To capture this character's essence, many turns and arm-extending movements were built into the posing design, freezing the fluttering of long sleeves and skirts in a split second while ensuring tassels and cords didn't tangle mid-air. Beyond the standard folding fan, in a few shots I also held a long rope prop with pom-poms, adding a bit of temporary ceremony and providing more variety for hand movements.

As a convention regular, I always worry about costume damage in transit before heading out. But once you truly immerse yourself in the ACG atmosphere on-site and exchange acknowledging nods with fellow fans who share your passion for the work, every bit of effort feels completely worthwhile. I hope through these photos, viewers can feel both the delicate and carefree sides of this character. The smooth creation of these Convention photos also owed everything to the photographer friends snapping shots on-site—frequently squatting on the ground or hoisting heavy telephoto lenses to find the best angle. Perhaps this is the enchanting charm of comic conventions—briefly detaching oneself from reality to become that elegant, dignified version of yourself from another world. No matter how much time passes, pulling up these photos will always bring back the reverberating sounds of the venue and that quiet serenity sweeping through my heart while holding the folding fan.
