[Lynae cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Summer swimsuit Cosplay photoshoot Sharing

The focus of this photoshoot lay in the light-transmitting effect of the costume fabric. To recreate the feeling of Lynae's Summer swimsuit in Wuthering Waves, we chose a solid blue backdrop paired with blue-and-white striped props, such as beach lounge chairs and an oversized parasol. The reflective floor material simulated the shallow waters washing over the beach; once illuminated by the lights, the shimmering surface effect came alive.

Let's talk about the styling. The blonde wig hairpieces were layered with uneven heights, especially the cyan circular hair rings on both sides; to prevent them from looking too rigid, I used fine bobby pins to make micro-adjustments so they kept a natural curve when turning my head. The costume features a sheer tulle top, a material that demands precise lighting—being sheer, excessive brightness causes overblown washout, while too little light obscures textures. Thus, the photographer and I specifically dialed in a backlit angle to bring out the tulle textures while maintaining the crisp silhouette of the blue camisole straps. For makeup, reddish-pink eyeshadow was chosen, and to complement the cool blue-and-white tones, a touch of pink blush was swept across the cheeks for a healthier complexion.

Posing choices required careful thought. The first photo lying on the chair mainly expressed a relaxed state, lowering the line of sight slightly to capture a clean profile. The second and third photos were kneeling poses; the third is actually my personal favorite because the composition is centered, creating strong eye contact with the camera, while sitting gracefully showcased thigh and waist contours, balanced by the blue shark plush in hand. The fourth photo seated on the chair with feet extended forward visually elongated leg proportions, pairing with pearl sandals for balanced harmony and leg extension.

During the shoot, I immersed myself in character, projecting a languid yet alluring aura. This was vital for the photoshoot; the outfit is lively, so stiff posing would make the frame rigid. I regulated my breathing to let shoulders drop naturally, enhancing neck and clavicle lines. To echo the scorching summer warmth, the gaze needed to balance a hazy daze with clear translucency. Teamwork during this studio shoot was seamless; prop placement was meticulously calculated—items like watermelon, water bottles, and ice cream added summer elements without obscuring body curves. Cleanliness of the reflective flooring was the biggest test, and thankfully our thorough prep yielded clean, transparent imagery.

A tip for girls attempting swimsuit shoots: when wearing these shorts and sheer tops, always be mindful of wardrobe malfunctions—keeping knees together or angling slightly sideways looks natural, and avoid overly large movements to keep the tulle from snagging. Post-processing focused on enhancing skin translucency and accentuating cool ambient tones to make skin pop. As a photography enthusiast passionate about cosplay, this set faithfully captured the summer essence of the character in this Anime-style photography session, and I hope to explore more prop-rich studio sets in the future.
