This Chii cosplay set took a lot of thought from preparation to final release, mainly wishing to create an atmosphere that carries a mechanical feel but has an extremely soft core. In terms of styling, instead of choosing conventional complex outfits, white cloth strips and bandages were wrapped around, which perfectly matches her ignorant and completely defenseless state towards the world. Paired with a light golden long straight wig, the straight bangs were intentionally trimmed, with twin-tails tied on both sides. Cooperating with pink small rubber bands and hair accessories, it restores that ethereal, unrealistic "humanoid" visual sense as much as possible. The makeup emphasized a clean and clear base, intensifying the pupil color and a slight reddish blending of the eye makeup to make the gaze look a bit blurred and melancholic, overall presenting a temperament of standing quietly.
The shooting location was selected in an industrial-style studio with a strong cyberpunk texture. The scene featured many vintage electronic testing instruments, various knob dashboards, red-and-white traffic cones, and blue LED neon light strips wrapped around the workbench. The most brilliant environmental elements were actually the massive amounts of crumpled plastic wrap and tinfoil scattered all over the floor and tabletop. They were reflective and messy, making the entire space look like an abandoned data processing hub or some forgotten laboratory, perfectly leaning into a Wasteland style cosplay theme.
During the shoot, the photographer had me sit on a black gaming chair and electronic instrument cases to experiment with different postures. To make the character stand out in the cold, hard scene, the main light source used a fill light with a soft-focus effect, capturing the texture of the skin and blonde hair very delicately, while the blue neon light strips in the background outlined the edge silhouette. Because I wasn't wearing shoes, the actual tactile sensation of stepping barefoot on the plastic film and ground instruments was a bit chilly, but it was precisely this subtle physical sensation that made it easier for me to immerse myself in the character. We attempted a progression of emotions across two nearly identical settings; although I kept saying 'it's a bit cold' with my mouth, the body's sense of relaxation instead achieved the desired effect. There was no need to force the gaze; just quietly looking into the camera or lowering my head in contemplation could beautifully convey that quiet atmosphere.
The combination of this outfit and scene doesn't focus on complex plots, but rather completes the interpretation of the character's essence through intense visual contrast—cool-toned technological instruments versus soft, fragile white bandages. She is a blank carrier, yet possesses her own independently beating heart; this environment perfectly accentuates the beauty of this contrast for this set of Atmospheric photos. The whole process was like conducting an atmospheric experiment; maintaining that slightly lonely yet not sorrowful emotion is the core that this final photoshoot wishes to express, capturing the fine details of Anime-style photography.
