Collaborating with Muyue on this black-and-white twin interpretation of Remielle from Zenless Zone Zero required extensive communication and prop preparation from the outset. Because we needed to present two diametrically opposed aesthetics within a single set, we established stark contrasts across costumes and styling. The white variation centered on celestial purity and ethereal grace, incorporating generous ruffled hems and lustrous satin fabrics, crowned by a pair of colossal white feathered wings on the back. Preserving the airy volume of the plumage required continuous fluffing throughout the shoot. Sapphire jewel brooches and metallic hair ornaments added intricate nuance, though donning them demanded extreme caution to prevent snagging the delicate tulle. Conversely, the black coordinate embraced a dark Gothic style, employing sheer mesh, leather strappings, and metallic buckles, with the skirt hem accented by white star motifs and paired with black ribbons and cross barrettes to sculpt a sharp, enigmatic presence.

For cosmetics, we coordinated with pastel pink short wigs and crimson contact lenses. Applying the pointed elf ears presented a technical hurdle: requiring seamless skin adhesion that could endure an entire day of shooting, we spent considerable time refining contour blending and prosthetic bonding around the earlobes. The staging was bathed in moody, low-key tones—vintage sofas, velvet rugs scattered with roses, and crystal-textured candelabras. To complement this vintage, mysterious atmosphere, the gaffer maintained disciplined low-key lighting, concentrating key illumination onto facial features so fabric reflections and deep shadows sculpted dramatic contrast.

The initial setup utilized a vertically staggered composition: I took the white outfit, half-reclining across the sofa. Because the white wings were massive, maneuvering within the compact set heavily tested core strength to keep body silhouettes fluid and graceful without causing the wings to clip or warp unnaturally. The second setup moved to intimate duo close-ups: Muyue posed in the black outfit in the foreground while I embraced her from behind in the white gown. This posture demanded tight synchronization of our breathing and centers of gravity; otherwise, it easily looked like two people merely dozing off against each other. We rehearsed the stance over a dozen times to strike that delicate balance between suffocating pressure and languid poise. In tight crops, the black coordinate beautifully highlighted the textures of sheer mesh and strappings, and the display of leg silhouettes added a sensuous edge to the frame.

Wrapping the session, executing a Duo cosplay proved far more physically exhausting than solo work—one must monitor personal condition while remaining hyper-aware of the partner's positioning and posture. Deep gratitude goes to Muyue for bringing this creative vision to life, and to our retoucher Mingfan for patient color grading and detail handling, allowing two contrasting aesthetics to coexist harmoniously in a single frame. Remielle's concept in Zenless Zone Zero is intrinsically layered, and articulating these polarized facets through our own interpretation was an immensely gratifying creative endeavor.
