[Azur Lane cosplay] Blue-haired Evening Gown Styling

The Blue-haired evening gown I custom-ordered late last month finally arrived. Today, taking advantage of the nice weather, I quickly snapped a set of behind-the-scenes photos inside the car before heading to the photo studio to share my overall hair and makeup experience.

This time I went with an Azur Lane theme outfit. Although it's just a set of Casual cosplay selfies, I still put a lot of thought into matching the costume and accessories. First is the iconic light blue wig; to present a lightweight and airy texture, I specifically chose this design featuring see-through bangs and layered ends. The two strands of hair framing the ears contour the face shape nicely, while the cool tone complements the skin tone exceptionally well. For the eyes, I paired color-matched bright blue contact lenses with subtle pearlescent eyeshadow, making the overall gaze look deeper and more translucent. The aegyosal on the lower eyelid and pink lip makeup balance out the cool ambiance of the overall blue tones, adding a touch of cute vitality.

The headpiece highlights are indisputably this silver rhinestone tiara and the large animal ears behind it. The plush texture of the animal ears is very prominent, and the internal wire frame support is well-constructed so it doesn't collapse easily. The rhinestones on the crown sparkle brilliantly under natural light filtering through the car window. To avoid looking cluttered, the tiara is firmly secured along the scalp line using hairpins and hairspray. For neck accessories, I chose a combination of a white lace choker and dark blue ribbon; the delicate pendant hanging below not only echoes the wig color, but also creates a seamless visual transition to the white off-the-shoulder ruffled evening dress. On my hands are short white gloves, with cuffs also featuring white ruffle designs, which preserves complete styling while allowing easy movement within the cramped car interior.

Shooting inside the vehicle actually poses quite a challenge for angles. Since one must balance the realism of the seatbelt without making props look impractical while maintaining complete composition, I pressed the camera position slightly lower for a low-angle shot. This not only makes the face appear smaller, but also allows contours of the tiara and animal ears to show clearly under top lighting, giving the subject an ambient, floating feel as if submerged in the deep sea.

The color scheme of this outfit centers around white and blue, looking exceptionally clean and refreshing. I feel that shooting pale colors under outdoor daylight or ambient natural lighting turns out a bit more casual and grounded than studio shoots, making it easier to reflect the raw fabric textures. Today's experience from leaving the door to getting into the car was overall comfortable without feeling overly constrained; I really love the state this styling presents. Although it's just a single photo set, encountering such great lighting is rare, capturing makeup fine details and outfit fluffiness intact. I look forward to taking this look out to diverse settings in the future and sharing more interesting perspectives with everyone.
