Two Distinct ChinaJoy 2025 Looks: Real Presence at the Convention Autograph Signing - Image 2

Appearing as a specially invited guest for the Convention autograph signing at ChinaJoy 2025, the two looks I prepared present a stark visual contrast. One is a dark sci-fi tech style with long silver-white hair and red eyes, wearing dark armor fitted with mechanical external parts, holding a device with a glowing red core prop in the center—an overall hardcore and cool look. The other is a Maid outfit cosplay featuring short light blue-silver hair and a pristine white lace maid dress, accented with red-and-blue ribbons on the headpiece; soft backlighting creates a dreamy texture, while the intricate lace choker around the neck and ruffled cuffs were styled with meticulous care.

The official poster design incorporates a clean pixel-art frame and a banner with white text on a blue background, complete with time and booth location guides. August weather in Shanghai poses a dual challenge of stamina and makeup endurance for any ACG Cosplayer. This time, I specifically applied cooling primers and heavy-duty setting sprays before makeup to ensure everything stays pristine in the hot exhibition halls, preventing sweat and oil from compromising the overall texture. I usually arrive in the backstage area two hours early to arrange the wigs—especially the headpiece and front bangs of the Maid outfit cosplay, which require repeated fine-tuning to look optimal at every camera angle.

Regarding the props, assembling the mechanical piece was somewhat intricate. To prevent collisions when navigating crowded booth areas, I reinforced its internal structure and recalibrated the center of gravity for handheld balance. While this isn't my first time attending ChinaJoy 2025, participating as an official guest for the Convention autograph signing and booth stage interactions brings a heightened sense of responsibility.

I'm not a mega-influencer ACG Cosplayer with massive viral traffic, but having a dedicated area to connect directly with everyone at China's premier digital entertainment expo is truly exciting. I have already mapped out my two-day Convention autograph signing schedule in advance, hoping to set aside ample time at the booth to chat with friends who visit and hear everyone's thoughts on my styling, makeup, and props.

These two distinct styles also represent my diverse aesthetic preferences in cosplay: the sci-fi tech style gives me a sense of independence and bold swagger, while the maid style carries delicate sweetness and gentleness. More often than not, preparing high-quality cosplay works involves far more than just putting on garments and wigs; it requires understanding the photographer's lighting mindset and the booth's physical atmosphere. The official poster provided precise lighting references—from cool-toned hardcore sharpness to warm-toned backlit softness, different lighting casts entirely distinct visual impacts onto the same outfit.

ChinaJoy 2025 embraces great diversity; whether it's digital tech elements or cute 2D anime styles, both find their passionate audiences in the halls. Every year's expo yields countless breathtaking on-site photos, which serves as continuous motivation for me to refine my makeup skills, costume craftsmanship, and prop production.

Being able to pull off both contrasting looks and receiving an invitation as a special guest is deeply meaningful recognition for me. In the final week leading up to the expo, I will conduct a final inspection on the stitching of each costume and sort out the merchandise for the Convention autograph signing. I hope all attending friends have an amazing time, and I look forward to creating wonderful offline memories together at the booth on August 2 and 3!
