Attending the World Line Anime Convention this time was primarily to present this Reimu Hakurei Cosplay. During wardrobe fitting prior to the shoot, the trickiest element was the long rod prop; attached to a stream of paper talismans, its center of gravity was top-heavy, sparking initial concerns that handling instability might disrupt poses. During shooting, however, it proved to be an excellent prop for heightening visual tension in dynamic actions.

The custom red-and-white color palette of the dress was exceptionally accurate, and the three-dimensional lace borders along the chest and hem greatly bolstered character fidelity. The skirt's generous width paired with a puffy inner lining supported a graceful silhouette when twirling. In terms of posing and composition, coordinating the sacred slips with the long rod created a rich, layered frame without feeling monotonous. Photographer Zhimengli was remarkably professional—despite the chaotic lighting and crowded convention hall background, he consistently discovered optimal angles to capture crisp close-up portraits and full-body shots.

In fact, the more classic a 2D character design is, the more it tests the texture of props. For this shoot, the folded paper charms were crafted from stiff cardstock so they wouldn't wilt in hand, and the silver metallic finish of the long rod was quite satisfying. Posing on-site at the convention was truly delightful, offering instant feedback through lens interaction.

Regarding hair and makeup, the wig underwent extensive layered trimming to reach the perfect volume and length, making it surprisingly easy to manage alongside Reimu's straight bangs and sidelocks. Throughout the shoot, I continuously adjusted my eye focus and posture, striving to capture the character's natural composure. Bringing this Touhou Project cosplay project from material sourcing to final wrap involved many steps; though tiring, it successfully fulfilled a cherished personal aspiration.
