[Chi Meng cosplay] Miao Holy Maiden in Bu Liang Ren Mobile Game Plays Flute Under Wisteria

Bringing Chi Meng to life this time involved extensive pre-production. Drawing inspiration from the Chinese anime cosplay classic Bu Liang Ren and the Bu Liang Ren Mobile Game, I have always held a special fondness for this spirited Miao maiden. For the wig, I selected a highly saturated magenta-rose tone. The fan-shaped silver headdress atop the crown featured an intricate architecture; to ensure it remained upright and stable before the lens, multiple layers of internal hair pads and structural bobby pins were anchored, requiring iterative angular adjustments to achieve the ideal visual poise. In terms of wardrobe, the cropped black-and-purple bodice paired with chased silver waist chains and collared neckpieces achieved the cultural weight of traditional Miao styling while preserving the agile, kinetic grace of a game combatant in true Ancient style cosplay fashion.

The set design was staged with equal care. To foster a secluded, tranquil atmosphere, we erected a blooming wisteria tree inside a white cyclorama studio, letting cascading violet petals harmonize with a carved wooden openwork screen on the left. The studio floor was laid with high-gloss reflective acrylic, mirroring the silhouettes of the figure and furnishings to build dramatic depth of field. The celadon bamboo flute served as the character's signature prop. To prevent flute-holding poses from feeling stiff, I refined my wrist tension and shoulder-neck lines through multiple tests. Throughout the shoot, keeping a straight spine and a fluid, elongated leg line was vital to project the maiden's signature sprightliness and nimbleness.

For makeup, I applied soft crimson-pink blending at the outer corners of the eyes paired with dense lashes to sharpen the gaze with exotic elegance. The wig required continuous combing between takes to tame flyaways, while the mirror-like floor had to be mopped clean of footprints after every few shots. Playing the flute required accurate finger placement alongside a focused, cool composure. In another setup raising the flute with one hand, engaging core abdominal strength supported an elevated single-leg stance while letting the pleated skirts drape naturally without wobbling. The metallic ornaments gave off crisp, rhythmic chimes with every movement, creating an immersive acoustic texture during video capture. Supporting the heavy headdress strained the neck, requiring scheduled resets to rest the cervical spine before locking the styling back into place. The high-slit cut layered over sheer black gossamer draped effortlessly into long leg extensions when seated, while silver filigree on the arm guards and greaves echoed the body jewelry. Whether watching the donghua or playing Bu Liang Ren Mobile Game, Chi Meng's spirited, uncompromising heart always resonates, and I hope this showcase fully channels her unmistakable charm.
