Exotic style, swaying is supreme~ This is probably the most fitting depiction in my mind when doing this look. Friends who know me well know that I usually like trying various outfit styles, but designs with strong exotic colors, tassels, and metallic elements really test overall makeup and styling coordination in terms of details. This time I prepared a Cat girl setting from Final Fantasy XIV. That style balancing softness and wild aura allowed me to naturally slip into character the moment I put on this costume.
Let's first talk about the overall structure of this outfit. The main piece is a light white top featuring pleated and off-the-shoulder designs, which visually elongates the lines of the neck and collarbone while adding a sense of breathing room. The absolute highlight is the waist treatment—not only revealing the waistline, but also equipped with an intricately crafted waist accessory. Woven with black-and-white geometric patterns, this belt hangs a large number of gold small chains and pendants below, paired with a center-set blue gemstone. Every slight movement sways rhythmically with the body posture. This swaying dynamic beauty truly feels particularly lively and vivid, just as described in the post.
Next up is makeup and the wig. To align the overall facial styling with this Exotic style, I specially selected blue-green colored contacts, forming an eye-catching cool-and-warm color contrast with my pink-toned makeup. I braided the pink wig into two thick pigtails; this chunky yet cute hairstyle makes one look very docile. The Animal ears shape and head accessories on top are the soul of this outfit. The fine gold chains and sapphire rhinestones on the forehead required a lot of time to fix onto the wig and hair clips to ensure a perfect drape during selfies. It carried a slight weight when worn, but that magical experience of instantly switching from a modern person to "Mi the story weaver" made me completely ignore these minor discomforts.
This set of photos is actually divided into two parts. The first four are selfie records at the event venue or backstage. Holding my phone to find angles, I particularly love the action of pointing at my face in Photo 3 along with the frame cropping—it not only shows the texture of the outfit, but also expresses eyes and expressions with a playful charm. The waving gesture in Photo 2 aims to bring everyone a very approachable, enjoying-the-moment feel.
As for the last two photos, they are re-shots from the photographer's camera viewfinder. Even though it's just a preview on the screen, it already allowed me to see the gorgeous light and shadows of the actual shoot. The outdoor set was hung with golden sequin curtains and flowing white fabrics; lit with warm yellow light, that sparkling, golden ambiance was an absolute match for my outfit. During the shoot, following the motto "swaying is supreme", I tried my best to display the flexibility and languid grace of a Cat girl—sitting or standing, making dancing gestures with my hands—working together with heavy stone pillar props nearby, making this exotic worldview feel instantly materialized. Many makeup styles and poses require coordination between lighting and angles, and sometimes seeing an excellently composed frame in the viewfinder brings an indescribable sense of accomplishment.
From outfit coordination to hair and makeup styling, to finally swaying relaxed in front of the lens, the entire process went very smoothly. I also tried my best to showcase the vitality and mystery of this Cat girl in this photo set. Whether it's the metal ornaments full of Exotic style or that light pink silhouette, I hope to present such pure love and experience for the character in the images. At the shoot location, breaking free from real-world constraints and immersively experiencing the excitement and joy brought by another cultural style is inherently a deeply interesting thing.
