Slipping into Master Yixuan's Traces of Inky Shadows outfit, the most immediate impression is how impeccably tailored the purple jacquard-patterned jacket is to the body. The hem and golden metallic accessories across the chest deliver gorgeous specular reflections beneath studio lighting, which contrast vividly against the white cuffs. To complement this styling, I carefully groomed this long, straight white wig, crowning it with her signature black headpiece to anchor visual focus across the upper body. For the bottom half, I chose a white pleated miniskirt, establishing a classic black, white, and purple palette alongside the jacket, coordinated with semi-sheer black pantyhose Stockings and glossy black stilettos. This visually elongates leg lines, harmonizing with a slightly crossed standing posture during the Mirror selfie to flatter overall bodily curves.

When shooting this Mirror selfie set, I searched indoors for an ideal backdrop. Behind me stands an openwork carved wooden Chinese screen over tactile parquet flooring, flanked by wooden tables and chairs draped in plush white faux-fur throws, with an illuminating warm-yellow cylindrical lantern resting on the side table. This traditional, rustic environment colliding with a modern fantasy garment sparked an intriguing visual dynamic.

Because the phone screen shielded my face while capturing the mirror reflection, the composition demanded heightened awareness of body language and framing. In the left shot, I placed one hand on my hip with the right knee slightly bent, shifting my weight onto the left leg to let the jacket hem drape naturally while showcasing the layered pleats of the skirt and the sleek leg contours sculpted by the Stockings and heels. In the right shot, I switched to extending one hand outward with knees gently flexed, utilizing the reach of the arm to expand dimensional space and keep the composition dynamic.

Several subtle details required careful handling during the shoot. Because the outfit splices purple and white, in a darker wood-toned environment I adjusted lighting angles so illumination fell evenly across the golden metallic accents and white pleated skirt, preventing them from sinking into the background. Furthermore, the smoothness of the Stockings was paramount—mirror reflections unforgivingly reveal wrinkles, so ensuring a flawless fit and orienting leg angles toward the mirror brought out leg lines cleanly without being shadowed by adjacent chairs or screens.
